The thought of giving up
is easy and tempting
But why throw your efforts
away,
When the rewards are just
around the corner.

A stolen heart is perhaps the most profound of any larceny ... its theft removes any joy that once flourished, and places anguish inside an empty soul.

There will always be people for whom (no matter how sweet the blessings), the cup is half empty. For these chronic pessimists, I say try the power of two P-words: first and foremost; prayer, and secondly; positive thinking. Focus on the blessings God has given, and even though the cup may not be running over, give thanks for the portion that is half full. Things could always be worse!

Poetry, of deeply beautiful, penetrating nature, is the dear voice of God attempting to reach the freshly showered ears of His wayward children~ though their hearts often remain clogged by wax.

Write with your heart and it will never be empty!

The Light and the Dark of it. Some people will go to extraordinary measures for redemption. Some people go to extraordinary lengths for Love. Some will call it courage. Others will denigrate the truth of the fall in delivery as foolish. There are benefits to falling, to the breaking: beginning, middle, end. If not the whole, you cannot see but a part of yourself in others, then there is something vitally humane missing in you. You are "Godless".No matter how clean and worthy you deem yourself.

Jesus went behind the enemy lines of empire with no physical armour, no sword, no army and defeated the might and power of the Roman Empire, and all empires, past, present and future. He did it by wisdom and insight, spiritual power, identity, love and a cross mixed with His resurrection, ascension and glorification. The Romans had no idea what happened. Nothing has changed much has it?

Like the Borg in Star Trek, empire says to you that resistance is futile. Those who don’t know that Christ resisted the Borg like Roman Empire, will be sucked into the vortex of today’s empire.

History is about empire. The bible was written in the context of empire. Jesus went behind enemy lines and conquered empire by a cross. Jesus won by losing.

The poet, the writer ... is sharing their thoughts and feelings with the universe on another level. Revealing their greatest vulnerabilities as some sort of cathartic alm towards understanding and empathy, or there for the grace of God go I. Perhaps a confessional place where they commune with themselves and readers will acknowledge that similar darkness and light within themselves and not feel so different, or alone. This is the way of all writing, whether it is about joy, or despair.

It breaks my heart to think how temporary things are, but then again isn't that what makes them beautiful.
