It is interesting to note that companies in general especially larger entities market to their consumer base, it’s what keeps them in power. If you look at it in depth it’s rather frightening when they say “targeted ads”. I am not comfortable with the word “targeted” now you may call me a snowflake for saying that however stay with me on this thought for a moment. Think of how they “target” you. That means they lo-jack and listen to you through various means i.e. cellphones, pads, Alexea, Siri and the like. This is nothing new, we already know this. They also follow what we do online and where from. It’s like having your own personal stalker that you never met, or your biggest social media fan you never knew you had. It is the idea that we are being studied, observed, scrutinized, catalogued and baited that has me fascinated by its ominous intent.
Its even more fascinating how people are so willing to trade their personal privacy for twinkling lights and the latest tweet. If you look at it even further, smartphones in my opinion are likely the most invasive digital parasite ever to infect our society. If you look at it in Biblical terms some would even consider it as the “mark of the beast” a bit of a stretch I admit but an interesting perspective to say the least.
All of this is masked under the term “convenience” for you. Actually, it is quite humorous how they cater to all of us with caring ads and compassion of how they care about you and your safety. All under the guise of prying open that wallet. I understand capitalism and how the market works, however I disagree with the invasive methods they employ. Sadly, it will only get worse as the technology improves and I shutter to think what that will be.
We are so engrossed and encompassed with technology that we have become comfortable and dependent upon it to the point of an addiction. The powers that be know this and use it overwhelmingly to their advantage and continue to evaluate new and insidious ways to infect our day to day life. I feel sorry for the new generations that are coming up as they will sadly be programmed quite early and will most likely reject any attempts to change it. So, in short it looks like the government has already won the battle of total control and they will continue to tighten the digital noose as long as there is something left to control. Leaving the masses drained of their humanity and blissfully ignorant to their enslavement. To quote an old commercial catch phrase “Can you hear me now?”
As always thanks for reading and comments always welcome.
