We just had an enjoyable

Weekend in Newark, N.J

At the poetry festival

(Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry

Festival) it was our first time

and did not know what to expect.

We had a weekend pass attached

To a lanyard we hung around

Our necks that allowed permission

To enter freely various

Halls of the NJPAC

Where the many acclaimed poets

Back-to-back recited their work.

We’re looking forward to next year.
