I don’t know how you feel about

The rescued Chilean miners,

But I lost my sympathetic

Feelings for them when they shown me

how money-grubbing they become.

Hiring an accountant while

still underground to track and share

the proceeds rubs me the wrong way.

While they’re down in the mine, the world

is hoping and praying for their

safe return and all the while they

are conjuring ways to make money.

I feel like a fool for wasting

my prayers on such a grubbing lot.

very easily, their Co. policies may not allow further compensation beyond their underground shift....if that be the case, financial and time demands upon these "new-celebrities" will be huge, that's just reality, for eg: if the program "60 mn. comes to my house to interview me, I may want to touch-up the place first! SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!! and I'll give you my "above-ground-time" jimbo

The mine is closed, never to re-open, they are basically unemployed now, so what is wrong with them making a little money off their experience underground, they still did suffer from being down under for so long, and things could have gone terribly wrong, so I do not see harm in them telling their story and making some cash out of it, I am not seeing it as greedy, they are no different that many others who have written books or gone public with a story that people want to hear ~~

I must give them the benefit of the doubt....we do not know enough of the facts. However, to have been in such a situation, is beyond my worst nightmare, so all I do is pray for them still and rejoice that they came out safe and alive, and I do wish them a better life. I believe they deserve some peace and good will, and time to heal from the trauma of such a horrible experience. It is not our place to judge...let's just be glad they didn't perish.
