New Features for PoetrySoup in the Near Future.

We have heard your requests for the following new features and we hope to incorporate them into PoetrySoup as resources become available. Just wanted to let you know what the future holds.

Limit the number of poems that can be posted within a specific time period.
Allow the turning on and off of commenting on your poems.
Control whether poems are available on PoetrySoup sister websites.
Incorporation of website Moderators from within the Soup Community.

Sorry! It should be "his or her submission" and not "their submission". Also, "my comment, please advise" and not "my comment. please advise"

Dear Poetry Soup, This may not be on topic but I would like to know why the sponsors of some contests insist that an entrant must specify his or her name with their submission. I think that the focus should be on the quality of the poem submitted and not on the poet. I should mention that not all contests insist on the poet's name. I do not understand why it is necessary to know the poet's name. If this is not the forum for my comment. please advise me of the proper forum for it. Thank You!

Good morning, Poetry Soup, thanks for working hard in making this place work better in some ways. However, I stated below that I had a few poetry soup request. .... #1.... I don't mind the reply button. But, the email notifications are annoying, and coming in constant. now I have 3 times the amount of emails. 1) every comment I receive 2) now, every email 3) now every reply on a comment I left..... so wow! it's like spamming my email box. I received 97 emails from soup alone in less than 3 days. I don't want to turn off receiving mail from soup every time I receive a comment. how about adding something where I don't need to receive the other emails. Thanks

UPDATE: we have added points 2 and 3 above as Premium Member features. We thought it was a GREAT idea to make these PM features. Thanks to those members that suggested this. You can control it on the PROFILE page.

The member in question was temporarily suspended for flooding/spamming Soup. Do not do that, that is a quick way to get deleted or suspended.

This is what we mean by knowing the facts before commenting. This is why there is often drama in the community. People comment or gossip without knowing the facts. Keep PoetrySoup a Haven. Email us with sensitive questions.

Tps..Would you kindly reconsider an option for those soupers who don't wish to be on poemzoo or maybe give them the option to deselect the poems they won't wish to see there? 2) Re Chris aectner -As far of what Iread there are no vulgarity or hatedful expressions in his verses.He was just against this zoo issue.and was only giving his opinion.Maybe you could welcome him back with us..So We can celebrate a peaceful Christmas and a happyNew year..Tnks Charmaine

Of course I won t flood you with emails.The only emails I ever sent to you were when I had an error 500 appearing on the page..Later found out i needed to clear my cache and then ve let you know.I do believe His intent wasn t mal..but that s what I think and believe after five yrs following his posts..Maybe all will be fixed since you said temporary.Re the suggestion being used in practice..Tnks for that Tps..Much appreciated.

I just stated below that tps is great cause you do work hard to keep this place a haven but Ow gee ..Just heard..Chirs is banned..Banning Chris is not so great tps.but its sad..terribly sad..The guy.might contradict your idea re poemzoo..but He wasnt being mean in any way..Chris has been here for years.He is straghtforward but not a back stabber.. I wonder why he is banned...when many are discussing the issue ..Very dissapointed and sad.: (

Thank you PS regarding •Allow the turning on and off of commenting on your poems. We can kind of do that now with the BLOCK, I believe though even if blocked the person can still email you? is this so? Sometimes I'd rather just stop the Soup mail & not block the comments, advise please.

some points for consideration, TPS.. 1) kindly include the forms of poetry i introduced here like naani, hutain, compression, lai, whitney, wreath... i have requested this from you a year ago.. this is not for me; soupers are using these forms and do not know how to categorize them... 2) allow us to choose the poems to be included in zoo.com... most of my pieces here are for my upcoming book..3) make the chat room work in a private manner if possible... more soon; thanks!

Three humble suggestions to Team Poetry Soup: 01. I would welcome if Team Poetry Soup can make some provisions for Poems with Photos also. 02. Please check if all the Premium members, who have paid their annual fee, is included by PS in your list of Premium Members. 03. This is my humble suggestion. You may transfer our poems to zoo.com but put a button as you have for whether the poem should be featured or not. Likewise, the button for if the poem should be transferred to zoo.com.. I have one long pending request. On my member area page, there are four links about my poems to be opened. None works . In the beginning when I clicked the poems of Carol Brown appeared. Nowadays, it says Error 500. Please help me.

poetry soup, what must one do to help these resources available. each up coming feature sounds XOOL. I like how you guys over there are doing what you can in order to keep us happy. Another thing, why can't we pay you guys directly. PayPal is annoying. I'll be right back with another request.

Concerning the resources, not much at this point. You CAN pay us directly by US Bank check. Unfortunately, to use a credit card we use PayPal.

Dear poetry soup, how about making the BLOCK POET feature work for all areas on the soup. I tried re-blocking a block poet from commenting on my blogs and reply area. Why doesn't the area work for all area. I'm not coming off mean or anything, but I don't like having unwelcome poets invaded my space, it creates lots of unnecessary comments. Could you add it please. Thank you....

No, it is not an easy job... but we understand what is involved in operating public websites. We've done it for YEARS. We know we cannot please everyone. Thanks. :-)
