Welcome, fellow poets!

As we progress...

On Sunday, January 19th @ 8am PST, our poetic hearts visit the Southern USA w/my special guest co-host, F.J. THOMAS from Louisiana on Blog Talk Radio!

F.J. has been a very long time member of the Soup and has left a hell of an impact, still, to this day with her bold words & geeky sense of humor. Plus, most importantly, some damn good poetry. My body is READY!

You'll notice that my show is a week later than originally planned. I had to push it back a week because I'm recovering from a small cold and needed to make sure my voice is in good order. MY BAD, YA'LL!

So, please join us as you'll have a chance to ask F.J. & I some questions AND read your own work LIVE on the air! Be excited!!! SERIOUSLY!

This is YOUR time to come together & shine, fellow poets. "Stand As 1" is an Open Mic internet radio show with the sole focus of providing all poets across the world a voice to be heard. So, DON'T BE SHY!

The fun all goes down at 8am PST/11am EST/4pm London Time/11pm in the Philippines!

Wanna listen and read your work on the show? Here's how...
To listen to the show & read your work, you have a few options:

Web: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/standas1 (There is a chat room where you can talk with myself and others in the chat, but you'll have to register on the site to do so. Otherwise, you'll just appear as "Guest12345" in the chat room with no ability to communicate with others).

Phone: (646) 716-4762 (You can hear the show live over the phone. If you want to actually read a poem on the air, then please be sure to press "1" and the voice prompt will confirm that you're in my Host queue to read a poem.)

Please keep in mind that all callers that want to read on my show are selected in the order they call in and who presses "1" to be placed in my queue.

Hey there, Drake......I've been listening to your show, and just had to reaffirm your position.....I loved what you have just said about those who try to "teach" us.....to write poetry "their way, what they think is the proper way"........... What someone wants to teach, only stifles what should come naturally to each one of us. I don't write to satisfy the proper form, the proper meter, or the proper mindset (unless it is just for fun or a contest requirement)...my true poetry, is that which comes from my soul, is poetry that flows, almost without my control. Thank you for what you said about the "teaching blogs". !! Great show today!!

Hi Cyndi! LOL, yes I entirely understand about struggling to attain any sort of "quiet" time with kids lingering about. :) I try to do what I can here to keep a focus on what should matter in a Poetry community.
