To those in the Philippines...

I'm so sorry my dear friend Drake if I just found your wonderful blog today. Thank you so much for your love and concern to all our families and friends and co-Filipinos. I'm so touched with the love, care and concern from you & from everyone here. Thanks a million on behalf of all Filipinos! Biggest hugs to you! I'm always worried also at times like this when there's typhoon coming in our country. I can't rest my butt and my phone. But the best thing I/we can really do is to pray. Our country is an archipelago so it's always visited by typhoon & other calamities. Again thank u so much to you and to all! Let's all be one in prayers. love lots always, Leonora

I've been watching live stream news online all day yesterday and today and so heartbreaking to to see my kababayan dying and sufferings from the strongest typhoon "Yolanda/Haiyan". If you can watch it on youtube you will end up crying :(. I just thanks to God that my family is safe. Thank you so much for all your prayers. God bless my beloved country

Drake, thank you so much for your concern and care, it truly moves me that you posted this blog-- my thanks also to everybody who has posted here, expressed their concern and care, for all those who keep us in prayer and thoughts. You all warm my heart. Our kababayans (fellowmen) who have been in the path of Yolanda (Haiyan) are going through the toughest of times right now, my heart goes out to them, I can only imagine being in those areas during & after the typhoon. Tacloban being one of the hardest hit. The devastation is heartbreaking, I couldn't help but cry when I saw updates. This is also esp hard for others, since some of the affected areas were recently hit by 7.1 earthquake. I'm so glad & thankful that Nette is ok and I hope other Filipino soupers as well... Nette has mentioned below of some details as well as the destruction that this typhoon has caused, and there is so much that needs to be done, in rebuilding lives. I think we will find out in the following days the extent of the damage, and loss of lives :(...it is terrifying how much havoc it has caused. But the Filipino spirit is so amazingly resilient and strong, and I'm confident in how the country will pick up the pieces, and how we'll all help each other out in this crisis, these kinds of events bring out the good in most people, well maybe some of the bad as well, but I hope it brings out more good,(despite the corruption, how I hope corrupt minds just ditch it for once, and think of the welfare of the people. Geez. For this time around--sorry, I won't go into full detail about it here, sorry). We also draw strength from those who, though far away, send out their positive thoughts, prayers, kindness and love. This blog is one beautiful example of it. My heartfelt thank you again. Nikko told me of this terrible event and I am praying for the dear souls in that little country. They are such lovely people. Thanks for making a blog for it, Drake.

my heart embraces you, drake.. this typhoon is the worst ever this year in the world ( far damaging than katrina).. it packed more that 250 mph winds ,bringing the weather condition to the highest level, 5.. so far we have more than 25 provinces down, casualties still rising and thousands of people displaced.. where nikko and i live, the storm signal reached level 2.. i felt the rain, flood and devastation, but safe for now... a sad day for the philippines.. THANK YOU, DEB, SHANITY, sweet sis CYN, BECCA, CARRIE, abd GAIL... we will appreciate your prayers as recovery will take long... again drake, you fill me up with your concern and empathy.. may the Light surround us.. huggs

Thank you Drake SO MUCH for this blog-- Good to hear Nette and Nikko are Okay. I've been frantic, but unable to get to my computer... appreciate keeping us informed... now I can breathe! Still... all those people, those poor people and now it's heading to Vietnam, I believe... nature is going mad.

I just this morning had an e-mail from our own Nikko, and was so relieved to know she is safe and seems to be out of harm's way. I hope our other Soupers keep safe, and hopefully do not live in the path of the storm. My prayers for those who do... I hope our friends have the means to let us know they are okay. Thank you Drake.
