One of my pet peeves is incorrect word usage and one is very simple and used the wrong way more than correctly by almost EVERYONE! Farther vs Further...farther is distance and further means continuation. Example: Mars is farther from the sun than the Earth, and further more, it's called the red planet. Another word misused is oftentimes, because that word is redundant - think about it, what does often mean? It means it happens alot--leave out the "times" annex--BTW, this type of word use shouldn't fall under "poetic license".....and "Further more, we are often farther than the truth than we think"!
