Hi Everyone, I'm still suffering from writer's block and not to mention those darn ads. It is so hard to comment and post a new poem with those darn ads popping up all over the place. They really need to fix this issue. I wanted to comment on an poem and got so frustrated over the ad popping up in the midst of my comment. I apologize Jan and Nina for not commenting on your fine collab (congratulations on getting the poem of day ) but I just got so frustrated. With the writer's block and the ad issue I'm not a happy camper. Have a nice day everyone:-) Alexis

I do not know if this will help, but when an ad pops up I say "Oh, good, something colorful and fun!" then I am able to ignore it completely, having already addressed it as a happy thing in my head. This technique has let me successfully not see a multitude of ads.

Connie Marcum Wong has reported the same issue with ads to Soup and is also very frustrated. She uses a Kendall - is that what you use? Any way, Soup assured me just this morning that they are working on the issue. Stay tuned, Alexis. I had issues with disappearing info that were eventually remedied so I'm trying to remain confident about the ad-deal, too. I know it must be very frustrating and I regret you, Connie and probably others are going thru such an ordeal in a place where you are suppose to be enjoying yourself. Chin up ... CayCay

After reading Jan's comment I went to settings and there is an option to hide ads and I selected it but it has NOT stop the ads.

Yes those are infuriating. I'm on my mobile device and the hide ads option is not working.

My son put an ad blocker onto my PC and i get no adverts on it but when i use my tablet its a darn nuisance and the ads are infuriating especially the one that appears directly underneath a poem and prevents comments being made:-( hugs jan xx

Same here. Many think the only way the site makes money is from memberships but that's obviously not the case with the overwhelming amount of poorly placed ads.

Hello Alexis, I too have been having the problem and very upsetting ... I have communicated with team Soup They guided me to Manage My Profile Settings; then go to show/ hide display ads... and that is still not working.... the adds remind me of a hidden popup like a vires they have no closing button and if they do they still won’t close.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr…..

alexis, Connie Wong is having this same problem. You should find others like her and approach Soup all together about it. I really wish they could control it . I am fortunate not to have this problem. I believe it has to do with the server or system you are using and I think all systems should not have to be affected by this! Hmmm, I see Jan has advice for lifetime members about this. I will have to ask Connie if she has tried what Jan is talking about!!

Same here. I can get through two or three comments before the ads take over. I'm very disappointed.

Copied from the membership features... "Hide/Show Display Advertising on PoetrySoup. Want to stop seeing ads? Become a Lifetime Premium member and control the display of ads." this is one of the features of lifetime membership Alexis - you are a lifetime member and CAN block the ads, ask TPS how to do it!

I have an ad block on my PC so the ads aren't a problem , but on my tablet it makes it into a nightmare and it is so frustrating to try and comment. I can't comment on a contest winning poem for Constance but can to all the other winners so there are issues on the site (I have reported this problem) . You are a lifetime member I think you can install an ad blocker. Hope you can add an ad blcok and get rid of your writer's block:-) hugs jan xx
