I am Darren, 22 years old. I write poetry in English, which is not my native tongue, not even my second language, but my third. Which is why you most probably will find a lot of crimes against grammar and spelling. Bear with me.

I can write in all sorts of conventional rhyme, but I prefer free verse. A few of my poems in Dutch have been published in an anthology. One of my English poems has been published in the "Love is Love" anthology for the (family of) victims of the Pulse-shooting in Orlando. I have recently (2018) published my first poetry collection "Intrinsic Brightness", availablde on Amazon.

I have translated Arabic poetry into English for Poetry Festivals. I like being Houdini, chained to the original poem and its conventions, yet freeing myself to deliver the best possible poem. I love it.

Disappearing poem

I had to write my poem, THE contest entry that was both so painful for me,and so beautiful, all over again, and submit it again.

I don't know what happened and how it happened, but after I wrote another poem, my contest entry has disappeared. Luckily I still had it in draft, but I had some wonderful and to the point comments and these are all gone too :-(

Has anyone else ever experienced the same?

Sorry, Darren. Has to be the glitch witches. I sure hope it has not happened to me . I know it has happened in contests I judged and some I entered as well. But to have a whole poem disappear from my page, I don't think it has happened to me.

It was quite a scare, plus all the comments are gone too, I was seriously sad. But I re-entered, and the poem is still in place now :)

It has happened to me also, Darren. One minute it was there and the next just gone. It was also a contest entry. I never reposted.

Darren, yes this has happened to me and has cost me an entry in a contest a few times, it just disappears, luckily you could still enter your write, I know the frustration ~

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago, in fact my blog question was just like yours "disappearing poem" I had to re-post for a contest I had already entered..I still don't know why or how or maybe even who

It's not happened to me but I've known others have had poems disappear - it happened to PD last year:-(hugs Jan xx
