Fortunate for me I believe in a God who is big enough to be questioned. Over the years I have had many questions and in the end coming to know Jesus has satisfied my heart. Without reading more of this poets work I do not feel qualified to comment on her poem. Like Becca it has not shaken my faith and I realize that many people take slivers of the Bible out of context. In the end this is a thought provoking poem.

Wow! There is a lot to learn from this smart writer. The contradictions between the vengeful God from the old testament and the all-love Jesus ... I know, differences between father and son are not new : ) A great idea to trasmit a message ... leaving the readers thinking and, perhaps, re-considering beliefs or discovering doubts ... Thanks for introducing Mrs. Finneyfrock. She already has two books of poetry; I'll try to find them in the library. Have a wonderful weekend.

thought I'd come to your blog and ask: frank, is it just me, or is Soup going very slowly right now? It has taken me ages just to respond to ten comments and now I am late for the gym. If anyone sees this, are you having problems too?

Frank, this is a very deep, profound, poem....Questioning the veracity of the Biblical account, or the judgement of God...the choices of a husband...the demands of conscience...An eye opening tale...Very profound.
