Making my way from dot to dot A squirrel, a bunny, a kangaroo Interested in seeing what I’ve got? I won’t know until it’s through. A squirrel, a bunny, a kangaroo A galaxy of stars up in heaven, I won’t know until it's through I’ve passed five, six, and seven. A galaxy of stars up in heaven Or, perhaps, a fairy all in pink I’ve passed nine, ten, and eleven Glad I’ve pencil, not indelible ink! Or, perhaps, a fairy all in pink When I have colored what I drew Glad I’ve pencil, not indelible ink I won’t know until I get to twenty-two. When I have colored what I drew Interested in seeing what I’ve got? I won’t know until I get to twenty-two, Making my way from dot to dot.

Kim, thank you so much for letting us knowing of Milt's passing! He was a wonderful poet and a wonderful friend. And, yes, he is now with his beloved wife! His poems, written from his cozy mountain cottage, reflected the beauty around him, his faith, and how he loved the seasons - except for winter. He loved pantoums, villanelles and other poetic forms like the terzanelle. He also loved his family. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. We have lost a committed poet and contest sponsor who devoted so much to the soup. May he rest in peace in the arms of our loving God that he served so well. Prayers for his family and friends.

Dear Kim, I had no idea that this poem received first place, the day of his passing. I know that Milton enjoyed writing for contests and hosting them. His presence will be missed here, along with his poetry. His memory lives on. Hugs, Brandy

Hello Kim, I was shocked to hear of Milton's death. Last noght I was going to create a poem and submit it. I was too over whelmed to do poetry. Milton is now with his wife. Also Connie, and Rico. I hope 2023 will be a better year for all of us on the Soup. Best wishes for the New Year Kim./ Darlene.

Heard the news about Milton. Man, he was a great guy, a straight shooter. He was a fantastic poet although I haven't commented on his works. Moving on forward, life is a perpetual thing, we will meet again. Milt, write that poetry for Trinity now. Smiles, my friend, I'll celebrate your life. R.I.P. ~ William

I am sure I saw his winning poem. It is wonderfully written. He had so many great poems at this site. How sad that we have lost Milt after having known him a relatively short time. (for me it seems a short time anyway) Thanks for this blog, dear.
