Occasionally, I will have pieces pop in my mind complete and in most cases that is a good thing. Thank You! Kim

Hi Kim, I wish I was so methodical as you, I am an, it jumps into my mind and I write it down sort of person. I joined soup a year ago, had written a few poems before that. Its a grand place to be, to have an extended family, that cares. Will read the winning poems you mentioned, thanks for the blog was so informative.....Seren

What you say about free verse being challenging is SO true. Since rhyme and meter come so easily to me, that is exactly WHY I do not write so much in free verse. It all comes out being so "iambic." anyway, I can see you really love poetry. Many congrats for your success and I will see more of you at Soup (btw ,before I saw your avatar I though you were a woman . I never met a male Kim before!)

I am your opposite Andrea because meter does not come easily to me. I love rhyme though especially internal rhyme because it can make a line even in Free Verse stand out. Thank You! Kim

Well, this was a great peek into how you come up with your poems. Very unlike mine, Kim. I don't use word maps. I'll be doing something and a though just comes to me, and I just rush to my lap top and let it pour out. Then I go back and rework it. Sometimes...if I don't get access to my laptop fast enough..the words vanish never to return. I can't tell you how heart rending that is for me! I'm so impressed with the awards you have received and do believe that you should toot your own horn! Why not? I will always remember you as the poet who gave me my first win! What an experience! :) Thanks for sharing your journey.

I am one of those rare people that just don't know when to talk about myself because I do not want to be one of those obnoxious people that do it all the time. Your Welcome! I enjoy reading your work.
