Stranger On the Outside

As I look into the mirror,
My mind is lost in thought.
It's hard to find myself,
The old me that life forgot.

I don't recognize her,
She has become unknown.
Time is not on her side,
She faces this world alone.

Eyes that hide secrets,
Memories she wants to erase.
Her life is no fairy tale,
Knowing there is no such place.

Her smile becomes forced,
The light she carried is out.
Now she's left in the dark,
She has no energy to shout.

I'm living in the darkness,
No longer seeing the light.
It's time to give up,
It's too late to fight.
