Biography

I was born, October 04, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, USA. My deceased father, Farlan Jay Dubarry, died in his sixties and he was born June 1926.  My deceased mother, Eleanor May Dubarry, was born May 30, 1928, in North Dakota and died June 2007.  All of my siblings, Lynn, Brian and Dale are now deceased and I don't know if my youngest brother, Mark, is still alive or not but most likely he still lives in Utah.

I started writing poetry for family, friends and my local Lutheran church in about the 1970's or 1980's and started writing for various poetry anthologies.  My poetry fellow poetry writer was my mother and sometimes my sister, Lynn.

My mother and I wanted to establish a non-profit chariety organization: Candlestick Publications of Poets, Writers and later on Artists.  We were registered with the Secretary of Washington State, but we never managed to establish it.  After my mother died, I stopped the registration process.

My mother also had some poems of hers published as well in various poetry anthologies  I had some people from my former church, Calvary Baptist, also located in Everett Washington.  Help us with our poems.  When I started attending Faith Lutheran Church, at first they published my poems in their news letter but they stopped due to lack of available space.

They published a few poetry booklets consisting of my poems and the poems of my collaborators including my deceased mother, Greg Richardson and Mary C.  And they were made available at their bazaars which have ceased.

Eber and Wein have been publishing my poems since 2014.  They are a veteran owned and operated publishers located in Pennsylvania: P.0. Box 624, New Freedom, PA 17349.  1-717-759-8065.  I have never had a collection of my own poetry collection published with them due to finanical reasons.

I consider myself a: Christian inspirational poet and writer, who is self taught.  It was God who gave me my literary talents and I primairly use them, on line to spread the good news and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The current poetry sites I am also on: All Poetry/Storwrite, Poetry Poem and Pondrin.

I come from a long line of talented artists/and or musicans/singers.  Although I used to be able to play the clarnet when I was younger, and was in school bands. I can no longer play it due to dentures. I never really did inherit any of their artistic abilites.  But I did sing in three church choirs: Trinity Lutheran Chruch, Calvary Baptist Church and Faith Lutheran Church.

When I was in my fifties, I was part of the Sunshine Singers at the Carl Gipson Senior Center which has been taken over by Volunteers of America and I no longer a member there.

Along with my sister, Lynn, we joined the Country Music Association as singers along with our former friend, Mike. I am no longer a member and do not know if they are still active in our area or not.

The senor disabled apartment complex, I now reside in used to have a weekly hymn singing group, and we would  sing old gospel hymns.  Ed White, a friend of mine, who is now deceased started the first group. I met him and his wife Marge, also deceased at Faith Luthern Church.  He was the organ/piano player there.  But he left the church before I did and joined another Lutheran church. I left due to high glcose levels and insulin.

The second group was years latter and started by Julie, Joy's older sister and her.  Due to health issues that group is also discontinued.

I currently belong to the CEF, Child Evangelist fellowship, for children and teens.  They have Wednesday Bible studies here and Thrusdays over the phone for a lady named Lynn and I.  I am not an active member but Lynn could be one.  I am able to particpate only because of my Bible study lady is a member.  And my church service on Sunday morning's is also over the telephone.

I also enjoy listening to Christian music and hymns and singing along with them, Bible study and reading.

My two favorite poetry sites are: Poetry Soup and All Poetry.
