You Can Know Everybody In the World But Jesus

On a European tour the famous American novelist, took his young daughter. His young daughter noticed how the cream of European society exonerated her father. And she wisely made the following statement, "Father, you know everybody in the world, but GOD!" Mark Twain had gained the whole world during his life time, but never knew God! His daughter, if she were older, she could have quoted Mathew 6:26 at him, "For what shall it profit a man (or a woman) if he gain the whole world and yet losses his own soul? For what shall a man (or a woman) give in exchange for his own soul? Recently I saw an app which claimed I could live the life of a successful billionaire. They sought to tantalize and glamorize a life style which my own family members coveted. (Myself included.) The Lord knew I was being tempted to make some very dangerous decisions. Instead of gaining wealth, I could also have to give them my very own personal information! The Lord asked me at least three times, "Roxanne! Is that the life style that you really want instead of me!" And I carefully thought how very temporal and deceitful riches could actually be! And I replied, "No Lord I no longer want that life style because it no longer appeals to me. Neither do the worshipers of money instead of God appeal to me any longer. I would rather have you than loads of money!" "Lay not up for yourselves treasures on the earth where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven." Matthew 6:19-21 Our mother once told us, when we were younger, that one of us would meet and eat with influential people. And to mind our table manners. Of course all of us denied it! When I was older she said that I was the one who was selected. And for a period of several years, the Democratic party replaced God as the main focal point in my families' attention! I did meet and greet with influential members of the Democratic Party and campaign for many of them. But that is no longer true! I have chosen God over the Democratic party. I am no longer even involved in that party at all! I spend my time by typing essays such as this one! My current friends are neither powerful nor influential and I have discovered that I actually prefer it that way! Some are not even Christians but SGI Buddists! And some of them were former Christians! But the Christian faith failed them. God has not failed me! I failed Him instead! Roxanne Lea Dubarry November 18, 2021
