Love Odyssey Part 2: Viscious Cycle

So, down wooded path with her I walked,
Her, of love and pain, nightmare and dream,
As we went along neither talked,
And quite different now did she seem.

At last, she said with a sigh
That made mind and heart to freeze,
"I never wanted to say 'goodbye',
Your name I heard in every breeze.

Thought of you set this heart to fire
Through potent mix of remorse and love,
To hear you now is like angel choir,
Yet in my heart does dagger shove.

Many a day I spent from you,
Only brooding over what I'd lost,
These eyes wept sorrow's bitter dew,
This heart grew cold as morning frost.

All along what I knew
Was losing you I feared most,
If I cut off before the cue
Perhaps I'd save us heartache's ghost.

So, I let go of what I loved,
Such pain it brought to cut you loose,
You kept up as I struck and shoved,
Forcing use of heart-breaking noose.

Passing time with someone new,
Leaving you high and dry,
My joy all gone and smiles few,
As you I saw in cloudy sky.

There was not a day gone past,
Where for you I didn't long,
For you, feelings would always last,
I would ache at all done wrong.

Now I come to you so lowly,
For you, my heart did always need,
I ask now as if you're holy,
That you'd love me again at this plead."

There I stood,
Before me, the one that haunted
Me as any heartbreak should,
After I she'd freely taunted.

She now wanting my heart
After all she'd done,
Many feelings tore me apart
As from heart and soul words would run.

"You've not a clue
The torture I've had,
My life broken down and blue
And mind driven nearly mad.

At a time, my love was true
Before you tore my kingdom down,
Belief I hold in love for you
Despite ever-present cloudy crown.

Deeds since done I can't forgive,
Not with the pain you gave,
I gave you all I had to live,
But now, none of it can you save.

Be gone from me as before!
Take this new love for me gained of late!
Walk yourself to distant shore
And alone, as I, face your fate."

I could see her heart break,
As I spoke of my desire,
Her tears there shed, far from fake
As her plea was tossed in fire.

Turned, and away she would go,
At last, my mind was somewhat eased,
For now she would truly know
The pain from her I had seized.

Spring In the Meadow

The subtle sunlight is kind and warm,
especially after winter's storm,
it cuts the cold like a heated knife,
and with this cut brings new life

In the warmth a cool breeze blows
and makes it seem as if time slows,
spread forth is spring's fresh aroma,
enough to bring sleep, a welcome coma

The mockingbird sings its song
after a journey hard and long,
the monarch's wings unfurl as it does wake,
then it seems to fly for flying's sake

Dormant plants begin to bloom
and in the wind release perfume,
this time of year is my treasure,
fresh and new for our pleasure

Love Odyssey Part 1: Betrayal

Once, I knew a woman
Different from any before,
The root of heart's known sin,
The fire burning in my core.

To remember the start,
Her longing gaze
And wishful heart
For so many days.

So close, yet far away,
Always somewhere in my mind,
Leading to the fateful day
Where hate and love I do find.

Giving in to all efforts made
I let her through the walls I'd built,
Whether from want of love's scherade
Or feeling of some pent-up guilt.

Closer we grew each passing day,
To a dormant heart, she'd brought some life,
For love, all doubts soon made way,
Only to startle with rising strife.

From apparent bliss, trouble grew,
Between us formed gaping chasm,
From by my side, she bid adieu,
This hear gave no fit nor spasm.

At any time, I was sure that she
Would forget of strife, and teary-eyed
Might surely come right back to me,
Oh, a fool I was to this decide.

She'd made her mind that it was through,
Every act now full of hate
As she did all she could do
To my torture now create.

My pain not in one lump sum,
Day by day this heart would break,
Nothing to be done would numb
The throbbing pain or sobbing shake.

Then, she laid her perfect plan,
With my heart she'd pull and play
To let me think myself her man,
Until to another, she made her way.

Days and days would come and pass,
Always haunted by thoughts of her,
Heart and soul brittle as glass,
To this sorrow, I thought no cure.

By this time, I've found my peace
Since the time she did depart,
Yet thoughts of her did never cease,
Echoed now and then through beat of heart.

Years have passed since that event,
I've struggled through steps of grief,
Feeling for her at this point spent,
It seemed I'd captured my relief.

Then, one day to my surprise
At my door she did appear,
The reason why, I could not surmise,
She wished me to walk with her and hear.

The Tale of Horton Javlin's Lost Loves

Love is a wonderful emotion,
it fills the heart with joyous commotion,
but love may easily turn to strife
and bring sorrow to a once happy life

This is the tale of a boy
who has possessed love's joy,
only to have it torn away,
for with none will his love stay

First he came upon a pretty girl
who had golden hair and a smile of pearl,
he loved her, and she loved him so,
but from this love sorrow would grow

For another she did find,
yet he paid it no mind,
ignoring all warning,
never had he thought this would end in mourning

She then left him for the other,
and darkness then did smother
him as he did weep,
and without guilt the girl did sleep

In time our boy was himself again,
but not the same as when
his heart had not bore the scar
of scorn, for many a heart love does mar

Soon after, new love he would find,
and this girl was much more kind,
with eyes and hair a dark, rich brown
and dimples that never gave to a frown

For a time things went well,
his heart emerged from its shell,
perhaps too soon his love emerged,
for in time his joy would be purged

History does repeat itself,
his heart this girl held on a shelf,
only for it to be tossed aside
for another she had spied

This poor boy's heart was played,
so far with none his love has stayed,
at love this boy cannot win,
this is the tragedy of Horton Javlin

Heart's Sun

She is like the sun,
When she rises, my day's begun,
She brings warmth upon my heart,
And has beauty beyond any art,
She is what my world revolves around,
With my spirits now space bound.

With a tantalizing shine
On her smile so fine,
And eyes with a gleam
So it does seem,
They are stars
Trapped within jars.

A heart cast out of gold,
Not a part of her is cold,
She is a ray of light
Who always shines bright,
Though she takes my breath away,
From her I will not stray.

She is like the sun,
When she sets, my day is done,
And as she goes away
She takes the light from my day,
But despite how dark things have been,
My sun will always rise again.

Love Odyssey Part 3: Redemption

I learn now she is no more,
The heart just couldn’t bear the stress,
Cold and still, lying on the floor
With an unworn wedding dress.

I sit here pondering
Over once true love gone at last,
The mind now begins to wandering,
What if, I’d forgiven the past?

If I’d given what was left,
We may have been together strong,
Yet in my heart was a cleft
Filled up with all she'd done wrong.

Perhaps, in the next place, her I’ll find,
And with truest soul implore
That hand in hand, warm and kind,
Company we make, forevermore.

With a final breath of air
And revelation newly shown,
Letting go of worldly care
As from this world now I’ve flown.

Awoken in a field of green
Under light of setting sun,
Beauty beyond all I’ve seen
In a place tears no longer run.

Taking in surrounding grace,
By no other am I met,
But in the distance by cliff face,
Stands a familiar silhouette.

Going forth with rapid breath
To bring peace to mind and wired nerve,
Here she is, beyond even death
From her my path should never swerve.

I took a place at her side
While she stared straight ahead,
Not my way had she eyed,
Not a word there was said.

After many minutes spent
Gazing on the evening red,
From her heart thoughts were sent
As firmly set she then said:

“You’ve some nerve to meet me here,
For my being here’s your cause,
Go on, go ahead and steer
Yourself away from my many flaws.”

“My dear, ‘twas you I tried to find
From the moment I’d met my fate,
Yet it seems to my mind,
Here, for me, you did wait.

At that she gave a blush,
Knowing what I’d said as true,
This brought my heart to rush
With feelings old, and feelings new.

“My love for you was always there
Through ev’ry single mistake I made,
I’ll always love, always care
Until the sun gives out to shade.”

“I stand behind all I’d said
For the pain you caused my heart,
Yet, my heart is far from being lead,
This place, perhaps, a second start.

In the past we’ve had our grief,
But in this place where time won’t end,
Our past is now a fallen leaf
To a sprouting love to mend.”

Turning then, with eyes now bright
At hearing of her one true dream,
Through all of our pain and plight
In paradise she’d truly seem.

Without a word, we then embraced,
Earthly struggles gone now, it seemed,
In our Heaven, fingers interlaced
As this love of ours had been redeemed.
