Spring In the Meadow
The subtle sunlight is kind and warm,
especially after winter's storm,
it cuts the cold like a heated knife,
and with this cut brings new life
In the warmth a cool breeze blows
and makes it seem as if time slows,
spread forth is spring's fresh aroma,
enough to bring sleep, a welcome coma
The mockingbird sings its song
after a journey hard and long,
the monarch's wings unfurl as it does wake,
then it seems to fly for flying's sake
Dormant plants begin to bloom
and in the wind release perfume,
this time of year is my treasure,
fresh and new for our pleasure
