Standstill

Strangely bent this journey extends
Surreal at times, yet so real at ends
Each end confronts with a hardship of choices
With an abrupt passing, or an eternity of voices...

You and I, once on similar trends
Like brothers, we traversed all evil impends
The wheels then turned, unleashed worst of fears
We parted asunder on an ocean of tears

Through fallen decades, aggrieved heart sustained
I found my calling, forgot I was pained
Just when the going got peaceful and boring
Gales of anguish, and war started pouring

Again, I was forced to extinguish my wills
Left home for those in need of my skills
Forced to welcome the worst of thrills
A reward for one with the highest kills?

As we splattered blood on uncertain causes
Strode down the road of victories and losses
A vessel, merely, I was as I killed
Of sons, of husbands, of fathers, I spilled

In the heat of the battle, as I charged through
When my craving eyes met the eyes of you
That instant, that second, that moment, I knew
Neither decades nor ages could help subdue

My faltering sword could no longer fight
For whom I now behold in my sight
And I question my vow, having vowed despite
Whether or not my cause was right

Yet again, I stand on the recurring hill
In the midst of havoc, at a standstill
A piece of land that I swore to defend
Is it worth the life of a brother, a friend?

Excrushitting

Must make haste
Excruciating!
Time for "waste"

Eid Greetings 2011

It rained THIS year around Eid.
Rained both, clear... and blood.
And the land was cleansed by the following morning.
(For those unaware, Eid is a religous festival celebrated by Muslims)

Light

The tormented cries of a heart confined
Barely ever met a gratifying end
The meager state is but a trick of your mind
For the course of destiny lies in your own hand

Forsaken love, a conceivable excuse
For a shattered being, to give up life
It is but a presumption, erroneously abstruse
For success greets those who dare to survive

No past, no fate, that He Cannot Mend
Or an ill-fated tale to have ever spawned
Never lose hope, however evident the end
For night is the darkest just before dawn

Punisher

Often bullied, more often tried
In darkest hours, never cried
Endless encounters with hope died
On steepest odds, yet never shied

I welcome abuse, give it your best
Hunt like a dog, squish like a pest
All this while, I take my rest
Until forebearance comes to test

For then, you must answer for your screwing
Ponder upon all of your doing
Ignorance is bliss, so is your unknowing
Where I shall take you, no one loves going

Do not take me for where I lie
For my colours deceive the brightest sky
Your pestering shall render your end nigh
(Be warned) There is more to me than meets the eye

The Lost Musketeer

Strode the red with a somewhat elegant stance.
Posture strut, apparel of a musketeer from France.
Outstanding panache surely caught the glance
Of the staring virgins, of the glaring aunts.
Flipped the cattle into a ga ga trance....
Did I make a wrong landing, by the faintest chance?
For the ga ga now seemed more like a look of askance.
Clearly, I was an optical nuance.

The Road To Perdition

With the advent of those with devious intent
To serve own greed, a heaven torn apart
A shift into darkness, perpetual, distend
A vendetta, to burn through generations, sparked

Once bound by the seal of love, of empathy
A Cultivation that boasted of intrinsic diversity
This brotherhood that cherished in peace and harmony
Now thirsts for blood, in the name of vanity

Induced upon us, an obstinate ferocity
A misbegotten hunger that fuels our rage
Bequeathed down ages, a curse upon humanity
Blinded of reason, unleashed carnage

We seek serenity in slaughter of our own
And devastate families to satiate our yearns
Our cause, to us, still remains unknown
Yet, the desire to kill, back home returns

Denial to this order is yet to be witnessed
Divided, we fall, do you not understand
The faith, the legacy, and the strength we harness
Whatever the odds, united, we stand

Shall I best through tides and deny the inclined
Or succumb to the norms of the wretched fraternity
To be a man of purpose, an enlightened mind
Or be a conscript of havoc, doomed for eternity

Mile

Drenched all over and pupils soaked
Down, this season, a nostalgic walk
A storm, within, of emotions cloaked
Remnant of treason remains to stalk

Contemptuous breach of a covenant shared
You drifted away to regal sounds
Calamity befell less fortunate, spared
My suffering, apparently, knows no bounds

This ride, in ways, is new to find
Each step drawn deeper, I deign
Tears of heaven and mine, combined
Abridged, somewhat, sorrows reign

Sinking daylight, hopes relinquish
Fading mirage intent on proving
Tranquil drive allures to vanquish
Keeps the undead, however, moving

Each moment spent, not unremembered
Each rise, and fall, is but a smother
And soul, from body, is when dismembered
By the side of you, will rest another

Note: This can be read as a reply to "Deliverance"

Winter Ruins

Bask in fervor lasted indeed
Lingered enough to corrupt the seed
Selfish, greedy, paid no heed
Piqued and wounded took new lead

Tender caress abandoned gifted
Of flowing afflictions, life sifted
Earth defiant, all essence lifted
Bloom to plunder, cycle drifted

Looming shadows withered
progresses
Life abandoned asunder tresses
Came the worst of nature's dresses
My bearings wander unworthy
recesses

The warmth of you when left
embrace
The light of you when shifted place
Adieu, with you, all glow, all trace
The leafless tree now bears no grace

Hope of return, I thrive upon
Keeps me moving, though you are
gone
Winter Ruins, my jewels in pawn
I seek salvation at a distant dawn

(I was inspired to write in this style
by the numerous sensational works
of my dear friend, Elizabeth Wesley
- I know mine doesn't even come
close)
