'water'

Water gushed over parched land fractures are slowly filled left by drought terrain humidified by cold water pouring down replacing warmth everything ice-covered Water set in ice form fluffy and breathtaking an impish sting to its beauty arctic my clothes are drenched twirl around with outstretched arms tears are forgotten By: Wilma Neels Contest Name: Nature, Four In One

'my Field of Dreams'

In my field of dreams I see you Walking towards me With that smile on your face With promise and hope in your eyes Somehow your reflection has gone dim My hope at times too But Then I remember the life you lived It was all about hope All about not giving up Never forgetting to smile That will always remain – A bittersweet memory Times like tonight you are so close by Not physically But I can feel your breathe against my skin I can feel the warmth of your touch It’s not in the things you said, It’s in the way you did them Even when I miss you The most Still, I am thankful I was blessed with you Even if just for a little while

'resilience'

Like a knockout blow In the final round The challenges comes All at once How you cope will depend on how you see them It's not always black and white Pastel shades Are all abound You can get through this Even if you have to tick Them off one by one Not everything Needs to be resolved today Deal with what you can Lighter they will become They say "Rome wasn't build in a day" Neither was your character It might look flawed to you But in you might be That single trait your foe wish they had Test your resilience And surprise yourself You might see what I see One day, hopefully some day

'sea Breeze'

All I see is water
As far as my eyes will allow me

Almost forgot
What brought me here

It was the memories of you

The warmth of the sand
 In between my toes
A gentle reminder of what it felt like
Having you next to me

Holding my hand as we took
Our walks along the shore
We didn't have to say a word
Just allow the gentle sea breeze
To mask our footprints as we went

Could have been a similar day,
Could have been a similar time

But today -

It’s just me and the gentle sea breeze

To remind me of you
Not saying a word
And yet I can feel you
With every step I take

'a Thousand Steps'

A thousand steps in between
who I was and who I am now
do I wonder about the detours?
do I wish I took the dirt road instead?

Would my path have been smoother if I said no instead of yes?
Would the worries have been less then what they are today?

I guess I’ll never know,
unless I go back in time
choose a different path
choose the least attractive offer and run with it

pipe dreams that is all my journey back in time would be
‘cause I would not have met you
and you would not be reading these words....

Everything in life boils down to an immaculate plan,
it may not be my ideal plan or yours
but in the end the voyage continues
whether we want to or not…

‘Cause it is all part of the bigger picture
and
in that image is your life and mine...

We just got to embrace the journey
no matter how uncertain it might be...

'comforter'

We get these hard hitting reminders Of whom you are In times of sadness In times of powerlessness In times when we are left with so many questions A memory A few words Lyrics of a song You coerce us into knowing That in all these things In life and death You are there At times silent At times encouraging But always there The comforter We never know we really need you Until it is the only thing we feel close to

'sober Thoughts'

You know how I sometimes wish life would be easier then I realize with easy comes self reliance and we can’t depend on ourselves the air that we breathe comes from somewhere - a higher power that power decides whether we stop breathing or continue living so if your days feel like it’s getting tougher if you feel all your strength has deserted you it has not; you still have the ability to think you can still embrace what life offers you even if its heartache, tough times, difficult people somewhere out there someone would take all your difficult moments just to experience life in all its facets

'can I Hold Your Hand'

Can I hold your hand? Just until your smile returns? Promise not to hold too tight In case you feel smothered A hint of the tears you shed Still visible – a testimony of your pain Your wall went up again I can feel it; you pushing at it Pushing every one away I will not feel wounded I will not force you to talk I know you need your space Can I hold your hand? Until your smile returns

'that Familiar Smile'

There I was standing, deep in thought You never crossed my mind, Until you appeared out of nowhere No warning, just with that familiar smile, Like you've been there all along Waiting for me to look up I was taken by surprise The impact you had, The impact you still have On my mood, My emotions Thought I was immune to your powers Guess that was only just a dream You are back and so is that smile The one thing I spend many nights trying To forget, Just like that, it is all back To mess with my pretty little head

'the Beating of Hearts'

We could pretend it’s the end, start loving each other all over again I know you want to, you still look at me in that way as if to say, "I want to make you mine" I knew that day I've lost it, could not control the beating of my heart they say a woman's heart beats faster than a man's that first night I couldn't tell the difference it was like your heart knew mine needed yours the music it made, had me floating all I could think of was how handsome you looked still don’t fathom, you thinking I had this to die for smile I just knew you held me captive, chemistry never played a part we were just two parts of a puzzle connecting, completing in the end answering all the questions my heart once asked now here we are, it's been a while yet it still feels like it’s that first time when I realized without question, you are the beating of my heart
