Can I hold your hand? Just until your smile returns? Promise not to hold too tight In case you feel smothered A hint of the tears you shed Still visible – a testimony of your pain Your wall went up again I can feel it; you pushing at it Pushing every one away I will not feel wounded I will not force you to talk I know you need your space Can I hold your hand?
