What If

What if Noah had only a daughter?,
he built an ark that wasn't near water.
What if David would have missed Goliath's head?,
and Goliath killed him instead.
What if Joseph had died in that hole?,
instead of him being sold.
What if Moses did not approach the bush?,
but instead chose to keep it all hush, hush.
What if Abraham would not offer up his only son?,
and thought that God would not give him another one.
What if only Eve had ate the fruit of the tree,
could Adam have saved you and me?
And what if Elijah had not killed the prophets of Baal?,
me and you would be worshipping a doll.
But glory to all ad praises be, ...cause
Joseph was given the gift to see,
Moses did venture and bowed upon his knee.
Abraham knew His promises were from sea to sea,
and Noah was as rightious as can be.
David knew Goliath would drop like a tree.
Now what about Adam I'm sure you want to know,
God already knew he would have to go.
The people of Babel stayed together from birth,
but God said multiply and subdue the earth.
God is good, and He's really great,
He knew the outcome before creation left the gate.

Respect & Consideration

Would you do something if you knew it hurts another?,
and try to keep this thing under cover.
Why would someone not have little consideration?,
let's think about this and look for an explaination.
Does it matter if I make a person upset?,
why don't we all show people some respect?
If I step on your toes, what should I say?,
"hello, good morning, or have a nice day".
Should we as people do things and not really care?,
have we become a society that isolates feelings never
to share, or cover up all feelings and bury them somewhere?
Never having fun, loving, or trying to communicate,
I ask you, "is it too late"?
Or is it because I'm straight?,
maybe it's because we've been taught to hate.
There's no love that comes from within,
we've come to love only our kin.
We are always looking for another person's fault,
then we justify when we get caught.
We spend so much time focusing on others wrong,
and we never take time to focus on our own.
I'll be the first one to admit,
when things don't go our way we have a fit.
All we do is just speak our mind,
never trying to be a little more kind.
If we could figure out our fellow man,
there would be no problem to understand.
Everyone has different thoughts, feelings, and emotions,
no one knows anothers will, needs, or devotions.
We can only ask how they feel,
and try not to bruise their heel.
 Some have very low self-esteems,
and are hurt by certain things.
these are hard facts no what it seems.
So in closing my sisters and brothers,
show and have some respect & consideration
for the space of others.

Peace

A tree stands alone,
under clouds so serene,
on a meadow draped in peace.

Christians

I'm Melvin, C.E.O. of T.W.I.S.T.,,,which stands for "The Way I See This"...
Here's some facts if you care to listen,
they're about people called Bedside Christians.
Do they love the Lord?, sure they say so,
if you notice to church they don't even go.
Step on their toes if you chance to dare,
that's one sure way to get them to swear.
Then they will holler Lord forgive me,
and turn around and kill, thinking God can't see.
                (1 John 3:15)
They praise God for an hour or two,
and then curse out a person when they're thru.
Don't think that there are some I'm missing,
 next come the Creeping Christians.
They tip in after the doors are closed,
make a mistake and they quickly turn up they're nose.
They're always on the go, never being still,
trying to get into Heaven on their own free will.
Backslidden Christians I pray for the most,
they've lost their trust in the Lord of host.
There are a few more I'll give you now,
the Spirit will teach you to know how.
That's how to live for the Lord Jesus Christ,
being a Simple Christian is o' so nice.
Bighead Christians think they know it all,
sometimes they are truly on the ball.
When it comes to their walk it's another story,
they forget to give God all the glory.
My friend they are quick to tell U what to do,
and that God will always see you thru.
Problems come their way they begin to grumble,
and you see them really start to crumble.
Sidewinder Christians go from this way to that way,
never believing anything for more than one day.
Every doctrine they try to go by,
not questioning or even wondering why.
They are Sidewinders because they go
from side to side,
they are always on the bandwagon for
 just a free ride.
These are the ones I love tho',
 cause they really don't know.
But let me tell you this my friends,
noone gets to Heaven by having loose ends.
                 SEE
We walk by faith and not by sight,
and not by our own might.
May we be blessed to have spiritual understanding,
so that we aren't living a life so demanding.
We should live lives that are totally shameless.
I've been all of the above Christians at one time
or another, but I now know how to love my sister
and my brother...

Little Homerun

First there is something you need to know,
my friend is only just four feet four.
You should know this great man Martin,
don't say you don't cause he'll be startin'.
He came to me and said "I had a dream",
I asked him "what do you mean"?
He said "two men on at the bottom of seven,
and we are down ten to eleven".
As he stood at the plate and glared into field,
he saw the picther drop down and kneel.
Then he backed out of the batter's box,
and saw their coach grinning like a fox.
When he stepped back in to take his bat,
he heard someone say "he can't hit like that".
So they all started to say "come in, come in",
as the picther fixed his face with a sly grin.
The ball was picthed and "smack" over the
 left fielders head,
while rounding third this is what Martin said.
"Come in, come in you all made a mistake,
even when he got to homeplate,
throwing the ball would be too late.
Luther Martin says "I had a dream",
Jimmy Melvin says "I know what you mean".
That's the story of my little friend Luther
and not the big man Martin Luther King.

Faith

I have a story of amazing faith to tell,
of three guts named Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael.
You know them as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
their names don't really matter that much though.
They were captured by a Babylonian king,
who wanted them to learn wisdom, science and things.
They all grew in knowledge and wisdom,
becoming the wisest in all the kingdom.
Not willing at all to eat the king's meat,
vegetables, beans and soup did they eat.
An image of the king was made, he said
"all must bow and worship me,
but my three friends would not bend a knee.
He didn't know the power of God he must learn,
causing all who didn't worship him to be burned.
They told him God was who they held in love,
and His power comes from above.
The had furnance heated hotter than norm,
then bound them all by the arm.
He order them to be thrown in the midst,
the heat was so intense it burnt his guards to a crisp.
As the king was looking through the port,
he asked was it not three?, yet I see a fourth.
They said the king is a nimrod?,
he said no, the fourth looks like the Son of God.
The king called them out as he came near,
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had not a smear.
They came forth with no smell, burn or singed,
God makes all man's power become unhinged.
So if you think that you're smart or brainy,
remember all the world's wisdom fits in God's pinky.

Velma My Love

Venture with me into paradise,
Encourge me with your daily advice.
Listen to your heart and open the door,
Member it's you only that I adore.
Any wants we can accomplish together,

Cause our love conquers any weather.
Our destiny is to love each other for life,
Because I need you as my wife.
Beautiful as you truly are,

Mother nature made you my star.
Edify the angels with your grace,
Lest I lose you and leave this place.
Visualize for me our wedding day,
Imagine happiness never going away.
Now I close with just this,
never will a day begin without my kiss.

Prison Work Call

Here's a story that must be told,
listen carefully as this saga unfold.
It's just after lunch, the clock says 1:30,
here comes theofficer saying let's get dirty.
That's what what he says to see who all will fall,
the man thing he's saying is time for work call.
I put that in to give you an idea,
cause the time to pick up butts is here.
On tuesday guess what, we cut the grass,
most guys are willing the others say I'll be last.
Then on Thursday we cut it again,
these folks are truly insane.
Grass doesn't grow that fast even in the rain.
The grass couldn't get cut any lower,
cause we were pushing a Flintstone mower.
There is no height or width adjustment,
you just turn around when you hit cement.
That's right push till you hit the sidewalk,
wait on the last man while you have a lil' talk.
Unless your lead man is going in circles,
that's what happens to work call workers.

Now

I would rather have a single flower from a friend,
than the choice of roses when my stay on Earth must end.
One simple word of kindness said to me,
than a story spoken in remembrance of me.
A loving smile from a friend I know is true,
than a gallon of tears as I bid this world adieu.
One blossom give me today,
be it pink, white, yellow or red,
not a whole truck load when I'm dead.
I need a friend to be there somehow,
 not tomorrow, but right NOW.

Kindness

Compliments keep up our self-respect,
something most of us tend to neglect.
We as people need to hear a kind word,
or our peace becomes disturbed.
 Everyone needs a little edification,
to help us thru a difficult situation.
We shouldn't always issue out judgment,
but open our hearts and give a compliment.
Never to build up around us fortresses of ice,
but ever listening to & giving good advice.
We don't need to be high on education,
just show a lil' respect and consideration.
Not to be quick to criticize,
yet humbling ourselves to apologize.
You see, from what I've come to comprehend,
is doing these things makes us truly a friend.
It's all about not being mindless,
but about giving & receiving kindness.
So in closing I say only this,
the bond of friendship you don't want to miss.
