Sleepwalking

The lightless night began as I fled for sanity,
As I searched for clarity.
How strange it is that my hope contains the least sincerity.
That my dreams have been washed away by storm.
Yet in this storm, my heart has grown.
In hatred I have transformed.
I am stronger.
Yet as the night began, I was weak.
Soon my weakness turned to strength.
I watched as every piece of my broken heart,
Mended, then fell apart.
As the night continued,
I mourned the death of my soul,
The beauty she could once hold,
Was washed by truth, collected by earth.
This is my stolen youth.
When life longs for death,
And truth longs for lies,
Beauty is forced to hide.
Hearts are called to ache.
I am stronger.
I am awake.
This is a new life,
My heart will heal, not break..
Yet through the night I feel,
I break myself only to heal.
Yet again, break myself only to conceal.
I was once broken.
I am stronger now I scream.
This night is filled with dreams!
In pain there is beauty unseen.
You are alive, you have survived.
Breathe.
You see pain but know not what lay beneath.
You see today but are blind to tomorrow.
You are blind to happiness beneath sorrow.
I am stronger.
I see light.
For in this night I have seen pain.
Yet in morning I see the monster I have slain.
I am stronger.
This is a new life,
For as I open my eyes,
I see the sunrise.
I refuse heartache.
I am stronger.
I am awake.
Morning has come.

Hold Me In Thunder, Love Me Through Rain

Tomorrow I will fly.
Yesterday, I fell.
Today I am before you,
Raw,
Bare.
We end,
begin.
We mend.
We die.
We are nothing.
I am no one.
Each a day,
The same moon,
Same sun.
As Today begins,
Tommorow is done.
When I crashed from above,
I thought of you.
As your hand held mine.
Your eyes, swam in mine.
Our hearts ever intertwined.
But here,
now, you are a stranger,
We must refine.
Within these screams ever loud,
In this crowd,
We call society,
I look for you.
In this crowd I simply disappear.
Another face among many.
A broken soul among more.
A broken half,
Of one whole.
We are united.
In pain,
Joy,
Hope,
Dreams.
United, because we are broken.
We take shelter in clouds of the sky
For with you, each moment,
Is new.
You teach me to fly.

Kabul

Red is pressed onto red, aged paint peeling away.
The flames of humanity-fading.
Sapphire mellows into verdance,
Purity is dissolved in darkness.
We are the Dying Youth.
This earth is not our own,
This air not our own,
Our own air poisoned by gunpowder,
This life will never be ours.
Life is golden, rich, lush,
We stand on the east,
Miles from life.
We are the Dying Youth.
Our hands do not hold.
Instead, Shake in fear.
Our eyes have seen death.
We are the Dying Youth.
Our mouths do not sing,
Instead, Cry out for help.
We cannot be heard.
We are the Dying Youth.
Our ears are not filled with song,
Instead, the sound of broken earth,
Screams,
Loss
We are the Dying Youth.
Our eyes do not see,
Instead glitter under the moon as tears all at our feet.
We have seen our fate, covered in blood and sorrow.
We are the Dying Youth.
Our hearts do not beat,
Instead they ache.
We are the Dying Youth.
Here, the broken children do not play,
Instead, mourn the death of their friends.
Our purity has been stolen by greed, blood, lies.
Life dare not open her eyes.
Here, no one dares to speak the truth,
This is the Afghan youth.

Haunted

Of what do I speak?
Why am I here,
What do I seek?
I am lost.
Between love, lies,
Life, and death.
What I choose to leave behind.
Tangled in time’s beauty.
Fading against her colors.
Could it be you?
The one intended to drag me down from the clouds.
Could it be you?
That reminds me I live here,
Right now.
Could it be you?
Who teaches me to breathe,
Who shows me the truth.
Could it be you,
Who renews my stolen youth?
Let it be you.

In Only a Breath

Inhale
At this hour, I cannot see
What lay below, Beneath, Beside me.
As the earth turns, I can only feel.
As my heart mends, heals.
As I look above,
I simply wish to watch,
As earth dances under night’s light.
This moment is my lifetime.
Leaving my doubts, fears behind.
I am able to breathe.
My once heavy breath,
Is ignited by joy within my heart.
And yet, what lay beyond weighs down ever heavy,
Bullet by bullet becomes one too many.
As I look up at the stars, I turn,
Only to see them in your eyes.
You hold the skies.
In your hands, Every move, Breath you take,
A dawn, A sunrise.
You carry the stars, My hope.
I do not fear the pain of tomorrow.
I can no longer taste this life’s sorrow.
Washed away by rain.
The damp earth collects my doubt of this world.
My heart beats to the rhythm of night’s song.
I no longer fear the beyond, beside, and above
Every doubt unties.
In this moment I feel love.
This song, moment, this breath is hope.
I am no longer the master of my thoughts, the master of my will.
In this moment, we are beautiful.
In this moment we are still.
Exhale.

Devil's Daughters

Faded colors of youth
Melting with the devils passion
Dancing with demons

For God once said,
Hold your heart
In darkness let it shine

Yet, Loneliness seeps through our pores.
dust of lies run through our lungs.

Dying to live
Paying to survive

Devil’s angel’s hold us tightly
“Let them play,” Whispers The Prince Of Lies.

In the ocean of redemption
We are drowning.

Lost souls mourn their pain.
This world is no longer our monster,
Rather it is our hearts the Devil has slain.
