ashes drift through streets
foundations crack into dust
false tongues guide the crowd
we watch as the pillars fall
we're silent heirs to ruin
shouts of protest fade
pleas for change lost in the void
swallowed by neglect
travesties parade as law
complacency rains on guilt
even those prepared
trained to weather storms and fire
find their tools undone
in a tide that won't recede
against headlong climate change
cry for children's sake
their innocence locked in halls
their hope dims and fades
as our shadows fall on them
darkening their fragile plight
worsening within
erosion of soul and will
the mirror grows dim
our humanity watches
complacent letting self fade
where have voices gone
we long for them in passing
we ask but can't sing
we pick flowers to fill graves
we never learn time's passing
where have our blooms gone
onto graves we keep digging—
questions circle back
who is there to sow not weep
who will plant flowers in spring

Your smiles frozen over,
and you stand tall above the water
like an iceberg, so tall and elegant
in your presentation.
But surface-level trickery
can’t fool or satiate
my scuba diver
curiosity.
I see through your
poorly constructed ruse.
I prep my gear,
dive deep into your ocean,
and discover that underneath
the surface-level beauty lies dormant
a bummock of cuts and bruises.
The true nature of things,
the true nature of you.
A life packed full of solutionless problems,
scribbled out like math equations
written on a chalkboard
by a genius mathematician
who can’t ever prove his theories
or get anything to work.
Nobody understands him
because he can’t even understand
the things going on
in his own head.
Now,
enough of the comparisons.
Let’s get back to the subject.
You’re chronically ill.
Your condition is worsening.
You present yourself in a positive light
while, under the surface, you're
withering.
I worry for the day
when all of your problems
become too much
for you to bear,
and you slip away
like an avalanche
in the Arctic,
never to be
seen again.

Dementia and Reflection
Years hence beyond the glow of self-confidence
When age 'clipses youth and the body weakens
And pills prescribed are swallowed to prevent
Further, worsening of the brain’s cognizance
As the soul pleads relief from the crippling disease,
When age 'clipses youth and the body weakens
And palsy, skin-mottled hands feel ill at ease
As forgetfulness succumbs to hysteria
And the soul pleads relief from the crippling disease.
Pertinacity strives sans euphoria
And dementia replaces the genius
With forgetfulness and hysteria
Interrupting daily living continuous
As the soul meanders without permanence
And insidious dementia robs the genius
Of faculties, dignity and consciousness;
Years hence beyond the glow of self-confidence
When the transient soul searches for permanence,
And pills are swallowed to retain cognizance.

Always running
Bringing pain
Can’t keep it inside
Don’t let it out
Everything hurts
Falling into darkness
Going nowhere
Hopelessly lost
Incapable of feeling
Joy or sorrow alike
Killing oneself
Losing all
Make it stop
Nothing can help
Other than death
Put me out of misery
Questioning everything
Returning to the past
So much heartbreak
Totally numb
Under a cloud
Violence inside
Worsening each day
X on yourself
Yelling in silence
Zoning out

Would you take a chance with coarse anomy:
A folk with dreams like yours tag an enemy?
A partaker does hurt vibrant economy,
Dropped farms for power: Poorest Agronomy…
Rivals to get rid of with shameful hustles,
Paid full cash silencers who love their rustles:
I’ve long learnt to think of all power tussles
As “For the wrong reasons flexing one’s muscles.”
On the African scene badly burnt car,
Owner politician with its rude scar,
Life savers much afraid he would not go far.
“They might finish him off in some lone bar!”
Times it meant with cash, asking that one step down
But mostly with weapons to forget The Crown,
Bizarre shoot-outs and scuffles in a calm town,
In the end wasting Senators Charles and Brown…
Stark evidence one can’t targets deliver,
His subjects to meet with enclosing river;
One would only be worsening the fever:
The merely interested in Gold and Silver…
Yes, not at all times take one to the Tower,
Sometimes, hands one over to Grave with flower;
From oneself one takes away easeful hour,
A crazy idea: one hour in bower..
Like games greatly checked by youth-crushing age;
One shouldn’t in one’s seventies open the page.

"Precious water--the elixir of life,
yet we still its sources with blase' knife."
A town in the desert awaits rescue from thirst.
Water supply gone, result of a twenty-year drought
that's worsening
Gifts from nature are for us to revere
They have life spans and deserve our care
yet we abuse
Industry pours poison into streams, ending them.
Discarded plastics suffocate the oceans
Fresh air--words
Forests burning or drowning
Wildlife and sea creatures are dying
we're killing
Mother Nature gave hints; now she is yelling
We didn't listen when she told us
she was in peril
Her endowments will last forever, we tell ourselves
Start visualizing chasing tumbleweeds, languishing
in a cactus shade

Till when will you keep me on the cross?
For how long will I bear this pain?
How many times will you whip me?
How long will you keep me naked?
The wound in my ribs is worsening,
How long will I plead for you,
I can't stand to face my father,
His wrath so terrifying,
In return you deny me,
How long will you keep sinning?
Didn't I do my part?
How long will you disappoint me?
How useless my ministry seem,
Haven't you heard enough?
From my anointed men?
How wicked are you men?
Everytime taking your hammer by your hands,
Another nail I take in,
Haven't you done enough?
Should I stop coaxing my father?

Some men on plenty feed,
Yet customers of greed,
The rash cankerworm breed,
Never there for your needs,
Worsening them like weeds...
I know a Shameless Steed,
Who'd never Gospels heed:
Pleased with Satan's own seed:
His best point: can minds read
Plus nice Jackets of Tweed
But paupers with Steed plead
And shake him not like reed.

They may want to bring back,
the selective schools.
Simplify a complex reality,
the underlying relationship of keenness,
wherever it comes from.
Persisted,
portraying the label,
developed by power.
Uncoerced,
questioned as viable.
Symptoms worsening,
getting education right for the working class.
Their children remain a challenge,
the odds are stacked against.
Unstilling aspiration,
strive to create opportunities,
The gap in monetized literacy,
bright but poor.

On account of his scary health
And a worsening breath
That sang perverse threat
He wasn’t amassing wealth,
His waist assigned to the loosest belt
Of those I had physically felt…
“Quite easy for Horrible Health
To keep downsizing Eager Wealth”
A Level Sixteen with annoying furniture
And a doubtful financial future…
So, I had to him leave by stealth:
My best bet but immoral sheath;
While with him in a dismal heath
Remembered a journey false like myth…
Soon away from him and relaxed
By Mortal Fear no more The Taxed
I began again to truly breathe
And God leave to with Divine Anger seethe.

Sin
Miracle Man
2/1/2022
God and Satan battle for control of mans soul,
Sin and our rebellion are fast taking control.
The World’s condition is worsening ever so fast,
causing me to question, can we much longer last?
Sin and rebellion have led to world disorder,
we watch daily, as illegals invade our border.
Sin slowly eats away, destroying all it touches,
Satan appears to have mankind in his clutches.
Sin has grown rampant throughout God’s land,
begging the question, has God withdrawn his hand?
Satan
“knows you by your name
but calls you by your sin.
But God
knows your sin
but He calls you by your name.”

this is... confusing and increases
from tense to intense
I woke up with less pain
but it was in the flesh and now
it only gets worse you can see
as it increases and is tense
and how it stings and hurts
and everything indicates that it is inside
it hurts inside and unbalances
unbalance and disorient
it doesn't calm and intensify
it doesn't get better and that's how it stays
it increases and then it gets worse
confuses violent deconcentrates
gets tense and is confused
and now it gets a lot worse
it gets worse just now
it always gets worse just at the tense time
in the tense hour when the worsening increases.

The easily cured by the broadest of smiles
Of a cancer gone gross miles,
To life gingerly bouncing back
And beginning to not a lack!
The speedily healed by jocular doctors,
Worsening worries from one who hectors:
The time the keys to his coffin start jangling,
He between Heaven and Hell dangling!
The Hit-With-A-Spiteful-Elbow
Who soon recovers with a placebo:
The suspended-from-ground mistletoe,
Or several winks after stepping on her toe.
Yes, to whom it is excellent news,
That you’ve just paid for her juice.

Asked to assemble
Things that resemble,
Henry remembers
The Racy Embers:
Months of Baptismal Fires:
For man waiting with criers
Attitude – changing September
And attitude – worsening October,
Kennedy – snatching November
And Robbers – multiplying December:
Months for ruinous steps on Mamba
And Urine’s loss of its amber.
Urged to still assemble,
Things that resemble,
Henry remembers
His family members:
His wife whose every joke tires
And their kids, incurable liars.
