Handicapped by charades,
A cacophony of voices
Comes from the real owners of the world
Who gather, roar, and whisper in a coven.
Wolly bat and tongie dog
Adorned with black wrappers
Teeth smeared with mysterious mixture
As they shape-shift with various forms inside
Even when persuaded,
Their words hold final sway.
Night is their realm,
Flying on bat-like wings
To summon ice and hailstorms.
They wield the power to manifest
In multiple, mysterious ways.
For background checks,
Elédumaré holds the power to thwart.
I hail thee…
Yet, all adoration belongs to God.

madagascar monkey, chickadee and delaware donkey
all three argued about the zesty orange pekoe tea
monkey said on the cover was Crocodile Dundee
chickadee and donkey would not agree
said it looked more like Tolly Wolly Zee tree
this kind of arguing is hurtful said Auntie Vee
that is gleefully silly said my cousin Twitching Twee
what about my japanese sushi asked Uncle Wee Bee.
His lunch had been dug from the China Sea
I was consternated but only me.
lee lee was showing off her pie of chick-a-pea.
let’s let this argument die, said Aunt Bea.
being friends with each other is the ultimate key
are those arguers the only sweet potato pies you see?
what if they flee? Asked lee, dee, and grand prix.
that would be no big deal, said auntie spree.
an argument that would die as soon as we decided to agree.
i was consternated, but only me.

Polly, you say?
Yes, Polly-Wolly
My, that's cute
There's more
What is it?
Polly-Wolly-Doodle
You're so creative
I knew you'd say that
What else do you have for me?
Polly-Wolly-Doodle-All-the-Day
Did you dream that up all by yourself?
No, I flat out stole it
You're evil, you are!
And you are 'Goody-Two-Shoes?'
That I am.
Oh, no. Here we go again...

Polly Wolly doodled all the day
'til a fat man stepped into the fray
He said the river meets the shore
like it has always done before
So Polly doesn't do that
anymore

I chanced upon Polly Wolly
Walking one day after school
Clearly without her doodle
Something she thought she'd never lose
She told me she had sat it down
As it was out of tune
And when doodles sound more like poodles
What else is there to do
So I took a hold of Polly
And led her by the hand
Downtown to the lost and found
Where all that's lost is left
She went on and on about her doodle
Like a long lost friend
She asked the lass behind the desk
If she'd ever see her doodle again
The lass asked the doodles color scheme
And how large it was in size
Seems people lose their doodles often
If not most all the time
When they handed her her doodle back
There really wasn't much to say
As Polly Wolly and her doodle
Waddled arm in arm merrily away

Though nature is a miracle of fragrance, sound, and sight
What can compare with tadpoles turning into butterflies
To think that dainty creature with its wings in flurried flight
Was once a polly-wolly-doodle all the day and night
Now see the creepy caterpillar slinking up the stem
He's squishy, green, and yellow and whatever color blends
But mostly he's repulsive, no one wants to be like him
Til his cocoon brings forth a frog as every young boy's friend
If you prefer the butterfly, then shoo them off of logs
For if they light they might become a snack for some big frog
You'd think by now a butterfly would come equipped with claws
But evolution always has been fraught with endless flaws

to stroll tomorrow's plastic streets
that glow at night from sunshine
To wander through the antique malls
That sold their wares to carry
To sit a commutator out upon the fastest rail
and watch the wondrous ways of youth
slip to and fro on wolly wogs as if they wear a tail
The grab hold ways of old and frail
Ride way beyond their pale
The swinging sways of counter plays
Remind me of a time
When by myself in younger days
I'd ride from time to time
Sipping coolies swapping lies
With rackers paying for crime
For in this city world of mist
There's nothing passed that isn't missed
By floating glass of Eyes
Tho once or twice in younger lives
A few were found to blink
It's all so taken care of now
So no child has to think
