Feel closed in and need a break
Take me far away to nowhere I care about
Just drive….
And let the wind blow through these kinky locks
Entangled with fears, dreams and lost passion
Give me speed
To free up the mind so knotted up
To perceive the world as it whizzes by
With carefree abandon
Turn up the music
Lyrics carried away by the wind
That sing of the freedom within
And once or twice hum the lyrics with me
That touches the heart
And brings you to the brink of tears
I know you are close
But feel etched in the world around me
I like having you here
And knowing we don’t have to make conversation
Do you feel my abandon
As the beauty zips away from us
Only to catch up with more
As the breeze engulfs us
Cooling off the heat within
As we speed up ahead
Into the horizon touching the sky
Hit the brakes
I feel better now
Lets take a stroll in the dusk
With you by my side
I have the peace within.

When
our heart
sets a goal,
mind so aligns
to fulfil the quest,
hoping for fulfilment.
For desires ego driven,
goalposts shift and horizons fade,
life whizzes by and death knocks our door,
whereupon heart seeks an action replay.
We thus take birth on earth, time and again,
until heart is calmed in staid silence,
knowing soul is not mind-body,
thus bending in surrender
to divine will alone,
letting go of fear,
in childlike trust,
whereupon
our heart
glows.

Senses five externalised
Analytical mind, objects sized
Yet power of reason, now our prison
Life whizzes by, too late at death we wisen
Recognising that we are not mind-body
We are divine, on earth for study
Learning love alone as real
Gods pulse that heals
Alive and aglow in our heart
As bliss ignition therein does start
Current innate to which we are oblivious
With narrow ego wielding baton of awareness
Thus no sooner we rest fear and desire
Love, the fire for which we aspire
We be to become the answer
Requiring no translator
As Gods essence luminous
The magic we weave fortuitous
Transcending beliefs and limitations
Co-creating manifestation by resonation
Voids within form do fill as divine bliss overspills
Hollow mind body vessel, vassal of Gods will
Readying us thus for our true life purpose
Singing our verse, with love in chorus
All that that is, enigmatic beauty
Bliss renewal in continuity

Sleep stupor continues through waking state
Feral instincts to surface gravitate
We stumble and fumble as though in trance
Life spinning out of control, left to chance
Fears and desires making us agitate
Make no mistake! Thought patterns our bondage
Narrow spirals, our innocence ravage
We call it discipline, in truth stupor
A far cry from our childhood joy caper
Low ego cravings, compelled to assuage
Life whizzes by pursuing illusions
If we but pause, we gain liberation
Endowed with free will, we are free to choose
Light or darkness; our life, so no excuse
Are we awake or merely sleep walking

Inevitable that our past
Indulgence in many an unholy repast
Brings now ego borne ferality
Seeking to penetrate our open porosity
Having no fear we do not resist
Our emptiness within offering no target
Grossness seeking an anchor
But there being no corresponding rancour
Onto which it may attach
Past karma whizzes by leaving us unscathed
As ordained the arrow penetrates
However flies by harmlessly unable to permeate
There being in our presence
Nothing else save the elixirous blissful fragrance
As a mist of bliss
Identity vaporised in the divine entwined caress
The external inconsequential
Ensconced in love beholding the divine miracle
The flowing continuum
Observed in dynamic stillness from the fulcrum
As the spacial void
In & within the flow of life we are always overjoyed
Dharma
Annihilating karma

He draws long, panting breaths from a Winston
Then blows a slow line of hazy blue smoke from lips
Which have known the defeated downturn of pain
Fear flames up a burning urgency within his chest
He is ardent with yearning for the second chance
A chance to rediscover the intimacy of youthful dreams
Compromising in prayers, he tells me how to cruise
My Thunderbird whizzes past green road signs
And one exit is the one where he buys his Seagram 7
Without a second thought, I announce to him
“The exit is Exit 13” – Is this a harbinger of what is to be
Him and his muse dies from alcoholism at the age of 44!
I miss him

The problem with your poems is
You’re one of many whizzes
Sitting on a hoard
of brilliant gems obscured;
For we can not read them all
Nor the crop on Fall;
Thus they’ll gather dust
But write them, ‘cause you must!

Firefly tango, lighting up the meadow
Whizzes, whirls, flits, and furls,
The little varmints buzz around,
Unaware we are watching their every move.
We older folks are no longer chasing them
or popping them in Mason Jars
To be our own little flashlights until their lights
Stop glowing, and they lie in the grass we put
In the bottom of the jar, dead from heartache.
We used to punch the holes in the tops, but still,
Their will to live was taken from them, so they
Chose to die, as captivity does that to lots
Of creatures, including fluorescent fireflies.
The children run into the house and I warn
The flitters, but they are too busy doing the
Firefly tango to listen to an old woman like
Me, so I sit now, watching the children
Cavorting in the meadow, attempting to
Catch their flashlights for the night.

tall, proud emerald stems like the West Witch’s guards
ruby-throated hummingbirds click in a homespun garden
tornadic spin thrusts homes, hither and thither, like flying brooms
strange snow lingers like torn pieces of Glinda’s tatterdemalion gown
a tin can, scarecrow and stuffed lion attempt to rescue Spring
rain and no oil rust the landscape — no drought in sight
the poppy overpopulation causes this season to slumber
the cold claims the North and whizzes Southward.

You cannot know a person's strengths
When he is very young.
Which group with talents will he
One day find himself among?
The math or science whizzes
Or the athletes on the field?
The writers or artistic types
With pen or brush to wield?
You try a bit of this and that
To see what rocks his boat,
Remembering that your own choice
May not procure his vote.
And certain smile-inducers
May not last for very long.
You think you've found the perfect match
Yet find out you were wrong.
But at the moment, though it might
Be just a passing phase,
Henry is enamored of
The paths within a maze.
His pencil grip is wobbly;
Still, he navigates the lanes,
Avoiding traps most deftly
As some confidence he gains.
I watch him as he travels
From the start until the end
And I wonder at the mazes
That in life he'll have to wend.

The Cosmos
To stare across the galaxy with telescope and fervent love
The gaseous dusty stars above, a constellation cluster reigns
A pulsar radiates two beams, a lighthouse flicker on both sides
Magnetic force that also spins around black holes we cannot see
Mythology has played a role an epic number of myth abounds
The Ursa Major or Giant Bear chased by hunters round the orbs
Myth is transferred to many lands; the Gods who sought to save the earth
Bring terror to the other Gods and Tricksters with their devious plans
A constellation to behold with Orion in the evening sky
A hunter and his giant stars bring history to the universe
The never ending spacious search in the black of night and all its lure
A random comet whizzes by and newer planets to explore
As planetariums do evolve the cosmos is a smaller place
Some day soon a craft will land unknown to Earth unknown to man
They’ll share their secrets and their myths and maybe if good fortune brings
They’ll tell us how they also found the secret of Eternal Peace.

There's a crowd at the door
but they ain't coming in.
My confidence as shut down,
my draw bridge as been pulled in.
Don't ask me out its not my scene.
I'm no social king or queen.
I would never make a star of the silver screen.
No celebrity party's, no publicity machine.
I see a world that whizzes by
and count my blessings that Im alive.
no fake smiles, and shaking hands
no tortured conversations that our society demands.
My nerves on end, a sweating brow.
An outside world expects me to kowtow.
Well I will live my life in the here and now. !
Love me for who I am,and its not high brow.
What am i saying, what do you know
the world is my oyster but i can't let go.
My comfort blankets that closed front door.
leave me alone , I'm just letting you know.
chorus
I'm not afraid I will show no fear.
As I will not let you come anywhere near.
leave me alone. don't interfere.
This room is my world and your not welcome here.
