Jacob was minding his orchard the other day
When snickeroo snackeroo he was snatched away
The apples said “Dang! Those aliens don’t play!”
Whisked into a spaceship, taken beyond the Milky Way
His faithful dog was the only one to tell the tale to his wife Kay
She did not fully understand his hound, Old Yeller Gray
But had the feeling Jacob was completely gone that day.
A terrifying tale relayed to me by my horrible cousin Fay.

We were whisked off into the middle of the sea
By a golden carp named Chicka May mee
She saved us from a fate worse than death I guess
Anyway, that’s what I heard from Uncle McNess
We travelled all day, a night, almost a week
She finally let us off on an old widow’s peak
The hag shook her head and we fell on the table
What have you there? Asked her sister Mable.
I think it’s a family in a mini house, she said.
The carp named Chicka May mee promptly fled.
We were taken in by the sisters, put on a table.
We liked them both, but especially sister Mable.

On the day their wedding was fixed
Long liberal movement was risked
And away The Newest Bride whisked
From a Sea of Blacks with Whites mixed...
Brenda known to have sometimes frisked
In death zones or The Asterisked,
Never fearing to be up mixed
With persons whose motives are mixed...
Now,she can't be found in a midst:
In disturbed eyes gathering mist...
Brenda had failed to settle Dan:
The man with gift she didn't ban;
Fears Dan might her beat like a pan;
Not her want to return his fan.

Jane knew so much about cardinals, but it was still a surprise
When she and her book were snatched up and began to rise.
Where are we going? She asked the fowls who were carrying her off.
We are taking you to bird heaven, said a young bird with a cough.
We don’t have to tell her, just let her read and relax said another.
He wanted her to meet his great grandfather and great grandmother.
They whisked Jane off into clouds that were pretty and white.
Knowing when she woke up that things would be more than all right.

Breeze-swept lawns
leaves whisked upward
whirling once again only
to flutter lazily to the earth
Early November
tree limbs suddenly bare
Wherefore the rush
gentle the wind yet

Why dip when I can sip
Why sleep when I can have a trip
Just a tip for my mind to strip
Just a drip for a bad day to flip
Short gaps between gulps
Long chats between spats
On a whiskey bottle I once read a date
I mistook it for time until I was running late
On a whiskey bottler I once read a name
I drunk it fast as I mistook it for someone else’s claim
Amidst the sleazy and dizzy
It is easy to be in a tizzy
We get silly and flimsy
From whizzy to tipsY
We sink every time we drink
Replete and redline your limit
