May I get serious for a moment
Sorry “serious” is not in my vocabulary
I try, and try but to no avail
Perhaps it's somewhat hereditary
Got it from my cuckoo son Scott
He sure didn't warn me he was contagious
Some of his humour is really far out
Might even call it outrageous
Did he get from me, did I get it from him
A quandry but it really matters not
The end result is we're a couple of yahoos
All else means diddly squat
Though I have been known to change my hat
On occasion, a few times in the past
Mostly though, when it comes to the crunch
Being a silly old jester is a blast!
my biggest mistake
you must agree
is thinking I was able
to write poetry
i try very hard
really do my best
when it comes to the crunch
I fail the test
couplets I like to write
trying not to make it sound too trite
haiku oh my
this really does try my brain...
like rain in summer
I will keep writing prose
practice makes perfect, I suppose

The kings of this world have diamonds
And pearls, and can do all they want to do.
They build up and break down, enjoying their
Fame. But when it comes to the crunch it is
Only a name.
Celebrities’ athletics and crown heads.
Respect to you here below. Your influences may be
Immense and followers loyal. But when the time is right
You have to go.
The Bible refers to Jesus Christ he fought
Not for Eternal Saviour and king. He establish authority
And reign supreme, as lord of lords, and king of kings.
I love you I want the world to know.
I want to shout it out,put it in the papers,write it in the sky.
For you I would die.
I know the above could never be.
Its my mind playing tricks on me.
When it comes to the crunch I am such a coward.
Scared I will make a fool of my self.
If you say no where would I go.
Dreams can be easily shattered.
I do not want that to happen to me.
so I will have to wait and see.
