Biggest Mistake

my biggest mistake
you must agree
is thinking I was able 
to write poetry

i try very hard
really do my best
when it comes to the crunch
I fail the test

couplets I like to write 
trying not to make it sound too trite

haiku oh my
this really does try my brain...
like rain in summer

I will keep writing prose
practice makes perfect,  I suppose
