The storm water pipe
gaped into open air
from an embankment
where it surfaced
from underground.
The opening was a little
smaller than my childhood height
and they said it stretched
a mile or more but nobody
knew for sure.
A danger sign warned
against entry saying
the pipe was subject to sudden
flooding - a protective grate
had a hole big enough
to crawl through.
I would pause
at its mouth and stare
into a claustrophobic dark.
Hunched, heart racing,
I monkey walked
my way in, listening out
for water, breathing in
the dank air. Deeper
and deeper I would go until
courage left me when
the light from the entrance
faded and all went black.
Hell was there.
It still is.

Future problems
To put a water pipe into a trench took many men
now a digging machine makes a trench in a few hours
we accept this saves money, aching backs, and time
These days office work can be done by a computer
newspapers lament the passing of the middle-class
who protest suddenly the ghost of the dole is real.
The medical professionals are nervous too, AI can learn
the skills needed in Latin, do not need a coffee break
and perform operations with steady hands
what I find hilarious is the demise of lawyers grasping
hands AI can learn every law book written and every argument used in legal disputes.
Since the relevant classes are no longer needed they can
form a union and march through empty streets since car driving is no longer needed and taxi drivers are sent back to school to become social workers, since it might be difficult for an AI to understand what humans are talking about, we gave them leisure time and now they hate us
If we can find the stress point where AI breaks down, we can eradicate it and get our jobs back.

Lover's rock at the end of town
is underwater now despite the
drought and water pipe ban
in place
Because you see the politicians
could not unite on common ground
and overcome the red tape in order
of how to fix it
So the dam wall was eventually
breached
Because so to the child who was
trying to plug the leak with his
finger
Had to leave as well as his paper
round was due to start early
that fateful morning
And you see had to abandon his
post as there was a far more
pressing matters and crisis
he had to attend at home
Because be was the only 1 in
his family who possessed a job
And the sole bread winner who
was charged with putting
food upon his family members
plate otherwise without him
they may well have starved
And they were already drowning
in debt
So what more harm could
possibly befall them than a
bit of water possibly could
do that hadn't been caused
or done alreay

A cold winter windy night
back from the last cinema show
the lane in sleeping mode
wearing the walls of brick and mortar
like a woolly blanket
The Northwind blowing in through gaps
like water gushing out of a large pipe mouth
hitting the closed window glasses
not looking at the eyes of street dogs
snuggling along the sidewalk
To reach my flat in a jiffy
in the housing society
the waiting bed and double quilt
slipping into and closing eyes
my world now topsy-turvy

He doesn’t understand
By luxu
The seeds have sprouted
The seedlings in the field are stronger
The Ears of paddy have appeared
Strings of grains of rice are ripe and gold
Harvest them and dry them in the sun
All finally have been carried into the barn
The old farmer brought a stool and sat
Narrowed his eyes
Looking up at the sky
Thinking about the harvest this year
The water pipe smoke was purring happily
An old dog, be free and at leisure
Not far away
Taking a nap
The TV in the room
Are repeating the spirit of the Eighteenth or Nineteenth Party Congress
The old farmer doesn't understand, nor he will
He only cares about the weather
And asks his son if the sky tomorrow
Will change.

The well and its water
I bought a well from a man
From my neighbourhood
But he prevented me
From it to take out water
Saying that he sold the well
But not the content it has inside
Then I passed two days thinking
How to solve this imbroglio
The moment I stumbled
With a piece of a broken brick
Suddenly I found the solution
Now the well is mine alone
Then why I should keep
The water of its owner for free
I should charge him by litter
Out witted the man was
And kept him mum
For rest of the time
Until I set running water pipe line.

Perceptions of reality
Willing to rattle me
Within the fallacy
Of malignancy
That makes one go into
mental distrophy
& physical atrophy
Of the unholy who commence the blasphemy
Undertaken by plastered thieves
Who master the leaves
on the Tree of Life
& fail to live up to the hype
Like the 3rd reich
Going down the water pipe
Infested in flouride
Forced to abide
Where the fire collides
All things set aside
For the riding tide
That forever binds
The gracious minds
With segacious rhymes
On round behinds
Be wise in who you decide
To be kind to
So, you won't feel the need to rewind
& remain in a time loop

Lake Eliza 2...
Out near dusty Lake Eliza
Lived sweety tart, where flies are
Sucked oddly Emu eggs some sunny days
Like a dozen egg appetiser (1 egg = 1 dozen fowl egg)
She got em off the miser
Rotten eggs old Emu walked away (in disgust)
Of course she had a rooster
Who had a name like Zac the Brewster
Who was always a riding the duck
So she shot him with a trap gun…(3/4” water pipe)
12 gauge lead did flatten one
Rooster on toast laughed ol Chuck
A Sand goanna lame
wanted eggs just the same
So he crawled into the chook house for a feed (fowl abode)
Duck Chuck saw him there
spat n shat n tore his hair
rode the old Goanna yes indeed
So we leave ol Lake Eliza
without being any wiser
just beware of Ducky Chuck
and the ol tart that lingers
and the rancid smelly dingus
just rotten emu eggs you’re out of luck Don Johnson
