Sometimes a breeze can be
a pleasurable presence.
It makes the curtains shimmy as
it creeps into my room.
They ripple with a twitch and flutter now,
pleasant with a warmish ruffle.
But that breeze becomes a wind,
the curtains wobble, riffle, ripple.
Warmth has become wintry:
a wobble and a ruffle bestow
violence now with a blow.
Close that window and tell
that gust to go, quit, take leave.
Yes, it does have a name I try not to utter.

Cold yesterday
weeping to warmish now.
the year is old,
now young,
now a grey cross-eyed cat
perched on a green wall.
The young grow more beautiful
it's hard to catch-up.
Google sucks
the weather's autocorrected
time and time again.
Pond ducks head for the beach
then retreat in dismay
as icebergs return
to inflatable swimming pools.
The groundhog's are in therapy.
Owls sleep at night
while blind mice dance,
beaming in the moonlight.
Its global,
its changing,
it's scary and silly.
Bobble hats bob
among the daffodilly.
At any moment
it could be warmish,
chillingly so.

Love me or hate me
few people can take me
plain, unadulterated, true to myself
their compulsive need to gussy me up
or completely disguise me
gives me nightmares...
Horrible- horrible!
The worst is where
they try to make me
Savory.
Suffocated in sauces, sweet relish
and pickled beets
garnished with green olives
and fussy-cut vienna sausages
all dancing in fancy chorus lines
on top of me
Oh No! I can't take it...
It just can't be!
What are they thinking?!
I awake with a snug sensation
as something warmish
drapes and
drizzles
down my back
AAAAAHHH!
Caramel sauce-
Thank God!

Rain - A Didactic Cinquain
Rain
Misty, sweet
Pelting, dewing, precipitating
Ever so warmish
Rainwater
Spring rain
Droplets wet, refreshing
Delighting, happening, crying
It was a surprise to us all
Cloud
Cloudy rain
Wonderful, stripy
Jumping, swimming, rolling
Such feelings of happiness
