bare bleached bones shining
vapored vision of verglas ~

Somber slate clouds blanket the longing skies,
whilst wisps of snow paint the frozen ground below.
Ombre leaves barrenly speckle slumbering trees,
glistening sheets of ice coat their fading existence.
Another bitter winter blows in,
like thistle tangling around forsaken irises.
Threads of changing seasons cling to my coat.
Taking a deep breath, I exhale, watching it hang in the evening air.
“Anywhere but here” rings in my head.
Empty coldness soaks into my soul,
as an icy blue-white depression takes hold.
Loneliness rests upon abandoned courtyards;
decaying rose petals become fossils
between layers of winter’s aquamarine verglas,
bathed by the snowglow of another illuminated midnight.
Death’s cold fingers trace my spine,
submerging me further into the gelid grip of despair,
massacring any hope of escape from this torment.

Sea Glass From Mother Nature’s Jewel Box
She gives us…
Hummingbirds with wings aflutter, a symphony for cherry blossoms
Sunset, moonrise primordial orbs, magic looms
Shooting comets that grace every sky
Twinkling stars that wink on ebon nights
then wane and vanish in sunlight
She reciprocates …
Over the sands of time She forms and fashions troves of jewels
Refuse, shards of glass litter discarded and strewn
Sanded and polished by briny waves magically glazed frosty verglas
Trading trash and abuse with gifts
Sea glass gems washed ashore
Stones resembling emeralds, amethyst, ruby’s,
turquoise crystals displayed on the soft carpeted shores
Wishes to have seen this newfangled beauty
She once gifted us exquisitely
A rare sight as less litter evinces Her gifts scarce
I wonder was She by us coerced?
Ample reasons for us to quit littering
if not, there are more

it took one glance into your emerald eyes’ kindest beams
for the focus to change and enlighten darkness and pain
to guide my broken refraction towards your olive skin
I felt all verglas thawing vision and join chartreuse blinks
of the moment as light sea foam pastels sprouted lush ferns
presented sage mint and lime moss to the harlequin waiting
to be brushed by honeydew colour and cinnamon fragrance
my own wilted flowers struggled at first to blossom again
hibiscus cranberry and feverish scarlet had lain abandoned
hastened by drought colour blindness and glanced disrepair
the Little Prince at the time merely a frog awaiting the kiss
looked at the broken thorns presiding over crimson petals
of vulnerable hope shattered kindness lost evergreen shoots
I love you said the candy apple and plumed with the parakeet

The Covenant
Take my humbleness, I submit myself
To a great God, that feels my lowliness
I have sinned; fear to be left on the shelf
I have been inspired by His Holiness
Hates dwell on us, wicked dimmed the light
For the reason of His crucifixion
He dealt agony longer than the night
The sin labeled in our soul’s inscription
For a long time, faith coated with verglas
Gone are many squalls during the daylight
All the noble trees stunted bladed grass
The wind whispers name for a wakeful flight
We are dust, and to dust, we shall return
His resurrection, no one left forlorn

I awake from my vivid dreams
dreams of fleeting moments
chasing rainbows, mystical streams
and never ending desire. Your presence
lights up my skies, a star so bright
don't fade away, stay by my side.
Come rescue me, my dearest!
allow me to dream a thousand more
hold me tight, I won't resist
I will love you forevermore
I'll turn my days to nights
so you'll completely be at my sight.
With you by my side, tangled hands
eyes bright as summer morn
skyline is filled with the music of the band
with kisses, my tousled hair you adorn
I smile a smile that melts the verglas of your heart
countless words uttered, until death do us part.
