I only ride the subway
To a doctor or a show.
When teaching, that was not the way
To work I used to go.
Today, though, in the morning rush
I had to take a train
And I expected all the usuals
That make the trip a pain –
Delays and crowds and people whom
You wouldn’t want to meet
And cars so packed that naturally,
You’d never get a seat.
Instead, there was a transit worker
In a neon vest
Who smiled and shouted, “Welcome, people!”
Like she was possessed.
She clapped her hands and greeted all
With such a joyous mien
That commuters sported grins
Where mostly scowls are likely seen.
Just think of it – one person can
Spread happiness around
With just an upbeat attitude,
A lesson quite profound.
BLACK PURPLE
Just one dialled and received call
Two hearts connected through a good network
From one single kiss; they stopped being single
Good timing made way for good scenes; censored
Walls failed to keep the secret safe; leaked
The confidential became official; registered.
He followed his heart
It led to another heart
She gave in everything to make it work
Pessimists prophecied the usuals; words
Prophecy gone wrong, they turn mute; people
Now, they relax to see if the end will be justified; wait!
The only thing they know is that only them know
Rain fell, sun shined, wind blew; thunder struck
Still, sealed remained sealed as everything remained the same
She admired his strengths; fell in love with his weaknesses; choice
He endured her imperfections to enjoy her perfections; patience
Without them, no more them; the colour is black purple..

Ordinary amidst
a thousand eggs,
I was a mere nobody.
Plain and common
were all I was --
unnoticeable in
the lush green vast.
Burning with thrill
I crawled into
their circle.
Alas, this world
threw me out
in the cold.
With my fragile heart
crushed and rejected,
I confined myself
in a humble mesh.
In solitude,I remained.
with only darkness
for a friend.
The world went on
with their usuals,
forgetting one
minute individual.
"Your time will come,"
I kept in mind.
"You'll rule the meadows
and soar the sky."
At last,
I felt the wings
warm my spine.
A part of me
was shunned with fear
while the other half
leaped with zeal.
I heard whispers
from afar.
There was a call
within my heart.
"Forget your past,
begin your flight.
Heaven's waiting
to see her child."
With a confident stance
I greeted the world.
"I came back
not to seek revenge,
but to rediscover
my worth;"
and as the wind breezed
through my wings,
I redeemed back
my lost esteem.
With the empowering hope
burning in my heart...
in my flight I let
no creature thwart.
