simple
   refined
	unapologetically elegant
words used to describe a beauty that lingers within
			buttons
			freckles
		   width of a finger
hidden in quiet places for only the astute to see
folds &wrinkles, shadows &seams
soft borders that hold back a grace that overflows
sifting
	straining
		gently seeping flow
a pouring out of details to light the world around
Hard, Cold, Unkind or Uncaring.
Unknown things that cannot encroach upon brilliance
	tender
		thoughtful
			meek &mild
understated pleasures both in gift and in receipt
shifting then lowering… an upturning of the face
balancing by the unspoken order of levels in space
asymmetric and undulating - slightly askew
unexpected effects of a stunningly natural stance
									corners
									quiet
							peace or solace
found only by those who would venture to seek

Premium Member Faith Shaken

Faith shaken, when earth life tests jest
Real’s the pain we feel
Our weary bones now seek some rest
Suffering needs to heal

Gone’s our burning yearning
Anguish we bear’s searing
Feeble faith upturning

Forsaken
Faith shaken

A Gloomy Survivorship

Talking and walking alone in the pavement
Whine of children breaks silent to their parents
The red lights a road up, we stop till green

Old lady with upturning hands
Said “give me a coin!”
Was ignored by everyone sense

Children sits under a big tree
Laid above some packs of cardboard
Was oppressed with atmosphere

Tears between ordinary and the upper
Means unequal of possibility class
Peace had gone, simply over a piece gap

Possum Song

POSSUM SONG

You are the same possum
I saw eating my garbage
like a recluse,
your long pointed snout
hissing at me through your teeth.

When I first saw you
I backed away
and quickly closed my door,
my legs still shaking
as if I'd been chased by a bear.

For months now I thought you'd be there
upturning my garbage cans
for some tasty morsel.
Oh, yes, I believed I'd see you again
every time I opened my door.

One night as I turned into my driveway,
my car lights focused for an instant
on your gray face
and mutilated body
lying alone in the street.

In the city when an animal dies
they carry off his remains
with the trash.
Only another possum could appreciate
the grotesque fierceness in your eyes.

I couldn't leave you there.
That night I carried you up my hill
in a shovel
and buried you
beneath my pomegranate tree.

The next day the neighbors spoke of you briefly.
A dead possum is usually only valuable to God,
but you stay alive in my memory
along with the night sounds
and barking dogs.

Love Is

Love is indescribable
said one person to anothe'

its fingerprint original
unique, yet understandable

no cloying sentiments
no mal-worded melodrama

perhaps upturning a hand
to fill its palm with whispers

maybe an echo of 'love you'
sighed by a smiling heart

Love is indescribable
said this person to another

Saddened

Saddened

brownish, leafless trees
the earth upturning with mud
a lifeless creation...

Thougths

The cloud is set to cry
Thunder rumble
A sunday in RCCG
Drummer boy in spiritual malapropism
Members of choir malaguena(- ing)
Blue, purple and scarlet yarn floating in the temple
A chest-piece in between my ego
As my thoughts grew larger and thinner
I stood in the company's of fools
Upturning sanity for relativity
In the laboratory of my thoughts
I adulterated truth for thoughts
Questioning the audacity of morality for the concept of anything goes
Romancing with secularism and syncretism
In holy matrimony i stood with duplicity
Igniting animistic junks
Dancing round the camp fire of spiritism
I an offspring of paranoiac
Swam with mundane and nude views
In the harmony of my vain thoughts
A lightning electrocute my rear ear
A voice slashed me like sash, saying
' awake brother, the service is over'

                                                                        awoh awoh
