A funeral for myself

It was a funeral for myself
And I still haven't buried her yet
The sky opened up and released its anger
Rained down in grief and sadness
The only other witness to her multiple deaths
The world built her to break
It was too late to save her
For she was now unrecognisable
In a casket crafted from pain

I, the only witness
To this silent tragedy
To the world it was quiet
But to her it was deafening
The constant reminder of being black
Of the trials and tribulations
Of going to hell and back
Her killers
Well, I think we all know the answer to that

The ghosts of the many parts she killed
Still harbour the body she's in
She knows she'll be forever haunted by the deaths within
She carried the guilt that was not her burden
She finally succumbed to a death that should never happened
And now the parts of her that still live
Are left with all the damage

To the little black girl within
You should never had to ask for forgiveness
For who you are, and all of your blackness
So with that being said to all the parts of me I had to kill
I hope you rest in peace

Crippled by guilt, yet not enough to make changes in that Instant

A person who to themselves are unrecognisable for Instance.

Losing sight of prior priorities, instead lethargic and Inconsistent.

Every day begins and every night ends feeling overwhelmingly Immunodeficient

Words of concern fall upon deafened ears, their statements are inconveniently
Insistent.

Parts of life you once loved and have not loved in a while, now you blankly perceive as Insufficient

Identity Crisis

Would you remember me
When there's not much of me left?
When I'm faded,
Like a rock chipped away by erosion.

Would you remember me
When you're almost unrecognisable?
When I don't think I know who you are anymore;
Like a tree that's shed its leaves in winter.

Would you remember me
When the world's spinning starts to slow?
When everything disappears so quickly,
Would you remember me?

Violin

Bought home in a battered case one day
He took it out and and scratched away
Playing out of tune and terribly flat
He scared the daylights out of the cat

The horsehair that ran along the bow
Had escaped and departed long ago
Never mind, he played without a flinch
While next door the neighbours winced

Melodies unrecognisable to human ear
He can't keep time or bum notes hear
'I'm a virtuoso!' he likes to boast
But in truth - he's as deaf as a post

The Song of Achilles

The sun sets along with my heart,
On that fiery horizon of earth,
Bright like the fire in my hearth.
The fire led to the imminent birth

Of my rage that burned along
With your corpse, with prolonged
Desire to rip out his heart, The one
Who maimed you unrecognisable.

And if I die to avenge
My cherished downfall, Let
My ashes be mixed with his
And buried below a tomb of black.

Missed

I sat there while he prepared his poison
Her scattered frame wrapped in her favourite towel
held together by her years of drool
her pain a broken meow
unrecognisable from those late nights
when her need for more food
was echoed in my ears
Hold her tightly her executioner whispered
No tighter had i held her
The needle slipped between skin and bone
counting her breaths
slowing as her eyes smiled at my own
and as tear pushed tear
my sweet Angel was gone

Premium MemberOn Death of a Great Singer

when funeral fire consumed his mortal remains,
roaring flames burnt his bodily musical domains,
peering through the glass portal one could see fires lash,
every inch reduced to unrecognisable ash!!

For five decades his golden voice reigned the music world,
he entertained with perfection of tune, rhythm, scale,
he sang songs of love, divine praise, of sadness or tears,
generations have his lilting tunes in their ears!

when you hear golden voice recording coming through air,
a musical voice preserved with scientific care,
mystery presence when physical form is erased,
shows us how meaning of every life is value based!

like a crawling garden snail we leave a trail behind,
trails created by art, talents or by brilliant mind,
the physical dissolves in time’s relentless crusade,
so must leave legacies of good deeds before we fade!

Plenty is forsaken
                                               Before
                                    Serenity is Awkened

Vehemence of flames devour branches
Fire's wicked lick strikes long bark skirts
Devastation ashen flattened unrecognisable
Has a seemingly insurmountable task

Charcoal spurs awakening of tiny children
Stubborn sprouts assert their need with a shove
Koalas discarded crawl tentatively back to snack
Goannas gratefully lap at ash powdered puddles

Great Southern Land is a Lady on a mission
Renowned for whole hearted hatred challenging
Hard nosed creatures created to recover, resume
Their calm rightful realm of red stemmed growth

Abundance is given a great chance in our Autumn
Eucalypt wave flags of ever shifting resilience
Terror of fire has no existence in their ambition
Vibrant tiles of lime tickle black yesterday's belly

As a Child To Man, the Turning

"As a Child to Man, The Turning"

When the father is missing
Where goes the child
Walking barefoot wild
on a beach where
all his sandcastles
are washed away
and mothers and sisters
are holy
their towers high
unreachable
he is measured against
the merit of the missing father
unrecognisable, unattainable
and his life lessons discovered
in a bitter prison of learning
as a Child to Man
understanding
LOVE
is the forgiveness
of abandonment
his truth is found
freedom floods
like his lost Ocean
in
The Turning

(LadyLabyrinth / 2020)

"The introduction to his heartache began as a child
So it's no wonder that he grew up to be so wild.
So he protected his feelings in walls he imagined
But castles crumble exposing the frightened child"

A City With No Foundation

In a city with no foundations

People are pursuing meaningless goals

Waiting for completion in their lives

Believing everything and nothing

In a city with no foundations

People only see their own inverted images

How difficult it is for them

To recognize who they are!

The emptiness is covered by pretty deceptions

Which push sorrow down into darkness

However, the darkness can hold nothing

If sorrow has no place to be kept,

Happiness will be unrecognisable

The empty void loved by people

They build their dreams on it

Oh, what a wonderful reality! They say,

Our dreams are more real than realities

Don’t look, don’t listen,

Don’t feel, don’t talk

Don’t share, don’t love

Don’t keep living, don’t die either

Make the utmost efforts to obtain

Peace through the blood of our enemies

Security from lethal weapons

In the city with no foundation

Choose a Topic Contest: Depression and Sadness

You’ll sit and whisper -
your name, your address...
the only things you’re
sure of, as the
sound of the trees
banging on the glass
drowns out your every
thought. Lost, in the
vast sea of dreams
you once had.

Your heartbeat echoes in
your skull, ripping you
apart ear from ear.
You’re trapped – unable to
move – yet you’re falling
just the same. That
broken face you once
knew is now unrecognisable
in the mirror.

The darkness sinks in,
scraping its way down
the back of your
throat, then pushing it’s
way back up.

You never knew freedom
until it was taken
away from you. Now
your wrists are becoming
red raw from the
handcuffs bound to the
wall, and every single
breath you take sucks
the life out of

you.

Save and Shame

Promotion, bonus, we believe good job well done,
we saved money let's give the rich a ton,
aluminium is nearly as good as zinc
nearly half the price that's how we have to think,
what about residents complaints, unfounded
Health, safety is considered, always hounded
inconsiderate people, shouting we are dire
what do we do if there's an emergency, fire,
you are all safe, all precautions taken they say
then came that predictable, indefensible day,
lives lost, lives ruined, possessions, memories
gone forever, no reason, now no remedies,
now we grieve for our unrecognisable dead,
they knew the problems but they never said,
stop buck passing, playing the blame game
has got no relevance, hang your heads in shame
for your ignorance not for the treasuries shock
for the people that once lived in Grenfell tower block.

Our thoughts are with the all the families of the residents of Grenfell tower Islington London that were lost on 14th June 2017.

The Stranger

She's there
Staring straight at me
Her eyes filled with emptiness
I've seen her before
Yet she is unrecognisable

She's here everyday
Always the same
No expression or word does she utter
Just looks and stares

What does she want?
Why is she here?
Time after time
Year after year

A troubled aura surrounds her
I hold her gaze
Leaning in closer desperately trying to catch glimpse
Of who she is and what troubles her so

Our eyes locked
No break or waver
Suddenly I shudder...
Instantly she does the same

Startled I step back
Instantly she does the same

I scratch my head
Confused and dazed
Instantly she does the same

Looking around
Can anyone see?
Who is this stranger looking at me?

I lean in again
And soon I see
The stranger I'm looking at
Would appear that it's me
