Unmotivated Poems

Hidden Talent

Hidden talent
Creative mind
Scared to talk
But tucked away
So much to invent
But how do I vent?
Unmotivated, uninspired all it went
I'm not poetic
I hope you can relax
Knowing fully well
This boy will flex
Don't believe in me
I believe in me
Don't doubt me either
I struggle with doubt
I'm drained in my thoughts
But you won't see through
My mind is tired
All I need is breakthrough

Premium MemberSee Saw Of Ups And Downs

Love is like a seesaw, both sides can go up or down.
It's a matter of give and take but hope it's about giving
A lot more than you ever take with respect
It takes two to tango you both have to want to work on
Through listening patience and communication, seeing things from their perspective on their side and asking them how it feels for them and if you can Make amends forgive and let go

Having kids and finding the time when you work
Can build hurdles you are just too tired or unmotivated to jump
Like so many countless couples have to contend with today
With just too many complications and other commitments, your head is in a spin
And rows over matters can build the pressure till we blow our tops
it's never easy and it is something that we may not both agree on and it's our right to have a different point of view
If it really matters then it may be better if you can talk it through
Plans don't always turn out like you, expected them to do
No one knows what tomorrow may bring
And you have to rationalize your priorities whatever is more important to you.

I may have that thing you can’t explain,
a style brushed with a touch of success;
Still you missed my hard working hands;
When some gave up on me? I pressed on.
Now tell me again why you think it’s ok,
why you have the right to any part of it?

Your lethargic attitude is not entitled to my grit;
I had to work hard for what I have;

Go ahead get defensive, call me names;
Doesn’t alter my history or your lack of;
Champion of ambition and the hustle,
 I never follow an unmotivated narrative;
Don’t want the hard way? That’s cool;
What happens if I take a paved road too?
So many women working for their dreams,
the financially stable now wear a target.

Your lethargic attitude is not entitled to my grit;
I had to work hard for what I have;

With equal effort this point would be moot,
yet culture is taking us in another direction;
You can see we have our lives together;
We don’t need saving and can’t save you;
Try to stake a claim on our name?!
You will wind up thrown from the saddle.

Your lethargic attitude is not entitled to my grit;
I had to work hard for what I have.

Premium MemberHot Summer Heat

It wears on you
 hot summer heat
 still hot at nine PM
 just want to stay inside
 a hundred and three, a hundred and five
 feels like blazes
Lord Almighty how I love the ac
 too old to do without it now
 actually am drinking water
 in excessive heat it quenches that dry thirst
 do everything in the morning, early morning
 by nine AM before the sun burns hard and savage
Just want to sit in the dark and enjoy cool air
 go outside and the summer heat will melt you
 like being in a daze, sleepy, unmotivated
 day dreaming of blizzards and Canadian arctic blasts
 those cozy freezing frost biting winter winds
 how you miss them in the hot summer heat
Hot and worn out, wet from sweat
 let the shower run cold for fifteen minutes
 before you step in, so hot the water in the pipes
 way to warm, takes time to turn cold
 let the cool water run over your head soaking your hair
 onto your face and be absorb by your overheated body
And it is only nine thirty AM
 going to be another cruel long hot day in the summer.

Languishing

Feeling off,unmotivated as the season starts to change.Not depressed just an absence of mental vibrancy, of health itself.

Here is my plan I share with you to turn this thing around.I will wake inordinately early a shock to the system.My research shows that mindfulness imperative to aiding in the process. To lead me to renewed gratitude and hope and joy.

Exorcise is important too.Proper rest.No more no less.Nutrition not an option.The rule.

Ready or not reboot.

The Past Is a Thought Away

The past is a thought.

The coastal fishing town in Peru was charming
its upland was bare and light brown, with roads
looking like scars caused by a triple Bye-Pass.
The sky was enormous, the biggest ever seen
but was unmotivated, not a cloud around.
Teresa is a short, lovely woman in well-filled jeans.
Ah, jeans, one wishes for the skirt’s reappearance.
We hired a car and drove up the bare hills.
The driest of landscapes weighted down by dust
Tiny villages, four houses and a cantina, not a place
for the young, Lima was their dream.
At the top of a hill, we stopped, and afar the Pacific
glittering green living up to its name.
We were in love, the transient kind disappearing
in the morning light; told each other lies and enjoyed
the sweetness of dreams.
We drove back before darkness, the road narrow.
Teresa worked at night, with many trawlers docking.
A stolen moment by two people whose youth had
passed us by, but we remember how sweet it was.

Unlisted

Invested, unrested, the minutes appear shorter everyday
  Infected, unprotected not liking the games they play

 Rated, unmotivated everyone seems to know their part
  Hated, unrelated figured it all out from the start

 Addicted, unlisted in the book of their super-secret code
  Inflicted, unpredicted in the amount of everything we're all owed

 Elected, unconnected to whom in which he serves
  Selected, unrespected without backbone or nerve

Chair

The hardness of my seat aches my back
My chest tightens and my heart beats louder and louder,
Can those around me hear it?
Fatigue and heaviness begin to take over
Now unmotivated and tired, I drift away
Letting myself fall into a shallow but inescapable comfort,
“I shall do it tomorrow…”

Premium MemberBob a Job

I employed a fellow named Bob,
Who was unmotivated, a slob,
When told what to do,
He would hide, in the loo,
He got angry when he lost his job!

Premium MemberThe Orangutan and I

We were told he was a go-getter
His aunt had bragged on him
He was a cutie, those brown eyes
He had arms to die for
They could have wrapped a mummy
We had believed the rumors
Anyway, I had, sad he would show us up
In fact, he was a bit of a sloth,
Lazy and unmotivated
Thus, we became fast friends

Premium MemberComfort Zone

Every now and then one should step outside their comfort zone tolerance,
discovering they are no longer stagnant, complacent, unmotivated or ignorant.

Premium MemberSimple Waits

Simple is exact - uncomplicated,
with power to relax the unmotivated.
Silence, except a counting clock
where time’s passing is illustrated.

Simple is enough, and it awaits
me in this familiar place.
I wish I could stay,
spend the whole day
and live just awhile at this pace.

Complex seems to call me
it waits just outside the door
I come here to breathe in memories
and bask in simplicity once more.

Captured In a Selfie

You wanted me not to bother you too much.
 Life will pass by at its speed, eventually
 But, I saw life stuck somewhere
 I tried to forget and forgive and carry on
 My lingering journey with lines of poems
 And, I saw, life stuck somewhere
 As, I bled through my emotions,
 Helpless and unwanted
 Or,
 Puzzled and confused.
 Both led to a journey somewhere, in the end.

 I saw you, helpless and unmotivated too
 You were there, yet you were not there anymore
 Not with your spiritual soul, mindfully.
 Busy with an almost conscious moment
 Captured in a selfie, not sure why.

 And I kissed the darkness goodbye for the time being
 For, I needed to make you free before the canvas of the eastern sky.

Unmotivated Able Bodied Men
By:Tom Wright
7/23/2019

Many young men are poor because of poor choices,
They’re Government puppets with muffled voices.
Most lack motivation and therefore see little hope,
While grasping the knot tied at the end of their rope.

But people by nature are just drawn to free stuff,
Willing to go through life, having just enough.
Because no work effort was never displayed,
For anything to be free, someone else has paid.

Some like sleeping late taking things with ease,
Like mice constantly seeking a bite of my cheese.
They canvass my neighborhood with a lame excuse,
Hoping to find someone who’s a mental recluse.

They don’t seek full time work just another handout,
And ring my door bell seeking a weekly bailout.
For most seem allergic to working a five day week,
And appear almost weekly trying a new technique.

They always shake my hand before saying good-by,
And think there’s one day a week, if you sweat you’ll die.
So not knowing which day, why take that chance,
And all they got was to practice, a new song and dance.

Stagnant Man

You are just not, concerned about growth
You do what you want, but don't push envelopes
Won't go beyond, or outside comfort zones

You are a man that's stagnant

You stick to routines, and do the same things
Refuse to do anything new, yeah that's weak
Can not push boundaries, as a creature of habit

You are a man that's stagnant
