As we hold our faith in every unflinching resoluteness
We embark at a distant port with ease and gladness.

Oblivious To Oblivion

I stand where silence threatens to consume,
The dark encroaches, hungering for claim,
Yet still I walk, unflinching in the gloom,
Unbent, unbroken, nameless though my name.

Oblivion waits with patient, endless hand,
Its shadows whisper promises of peace,
But I will not bow down to shifting sand,
Nor trade my breath for chains of sweet release.

The void may laugh, the stars may turn to dust,
The years may scatter like a broken flame,
But in my veins endures a stubborn trust,
A will no darkness ever yet could tame.

Though night is vast, and all is swept away,
I scorn the end, and claim my right to stay.

Never imagined an emotional blow
Could crush a bubbly gorgeous girl's world,
For whom the universe was an enchanting lore,
With bird's songs and flowers in the vase!

                       The garden turned barren,
                      The swing stopped moving,
                          Koels stopped cooing,
                          Roses lost their hue.

Sky no more looked azure,
Raindrops did not whisper love,
All she faced was fear and harshness,
No compassionate faces around.

With hurt, suffering and cruel abuse
Inflicted on a tender mind,
Delicate petals of her heart
Didn't crumble, turned resolute inside.
A promise she made to her dear ones,
Never will she bow to an oppressor,
Strength and courage she imbibed
From the family who fondly raised her.

Like a Sphinx she rose from the ashes,
She remained unflinching in any misery.
               As a grass blade survives,
Rough wind could not shake her prowess,
She is never a victim, because her soul is unparalleled .

The Distance Within

2025 Poetry Marathon Mile 6 Poetry Contest// Sponsored by: Mark Toney
( 7th Place )

Written: August 10, 2025

I run the miles deep within,
a subdued race, an unspoken intent,
devoid of spectators-- no finish line,
just breath and heart, both entwined.

The shades lengthen along my path
but still a soft dawn finds its way turning into gray.
Stage by stage a tale, flaw, and goal,
rushing, steady flow.

The road stretches far, but I endure—
a counterfeit concealed, strong and pure.
through storms that howl, nights that weep,
I keep the pace, I am awake.

With each mile that challenges my thoughts,
I find a surprising wellspring of strength.
not in the roar or triumphant--
but in the stillness, I transformed!

A marathoner not of feet,
but of the unflinching heartbeat,
so when the world drifts apart,
I run the internal reach.

Blue Bindings Aloft

I no longer trust the vows of marriage
For years, Vikings have built mystical Runes.
We once soared forth in golden carriages.
Now every dawn returns our dreamy tunes.

A faery, I remain in vibrant flight.
A mystic born with Stardust and Cosmos.
My flight dreams transcend the mind's starry night
To realms where big truths and visions arise.

Handfasted once beneath the ancient Oak
Amid unwinding breaths of whispered wind,
Now freed to ride the cosmic tides evoked,
Ascending where the Celestials began.

No human heart knows where I am flying
With defiant fantasies unflinching.

Flower Chide V,Petalbreach

He looked at Rose not past, but through
And said, “What waits will change you too.”
She plucked out a petal and handed him.
It pulsed between the stem and rim.

Rose turned back with nothing said,
Her footsteps soft, like vows long shed.

Hence the petal breached and then it reached
A world where love lay bruised and breached.

A petalbreach chime unsettled Nefarys with woe
For gossip is in the veins of things that grow.

"She breached the bloom with no regret,
Unraveled law which our roots had set."
cried Tulip with an unflinching vowtorn ache.
Tearing right through her bloomroot's wake.

"If roots still matter and vows still bind,
Then Rose must face what she left in rind.”
Daffodil declared with her petals taut.
As Nefarys wilted in quite distraught.

They said, “If one may breach, then so shall we,
“Not with withering secrets, but unity.”
They all plucked themselves without a cry,
And sang a vow that split the sky.
"You left us rind, and now shall see
What stirs from shattered symmetry.”
And thus, was shown with blinding clarity—
The bloom-born wrath of majority.

An Unflinching Character

Perception is alluding or even amply deceptive,
people may seem very strange and so delusive
in the interaction with sophisticated society:
where the norm is to display intellectuality
in the way they dress, the way they speak;
God help them when personal secrets leak,
will they expose their unflinching character?

I suggest all remain true to their valued ideals,
and despite the possible derision from peers
not brought up with a strict criteria of morals,
it won't make anyone feel less than an individual:
who has made an effort to stand out from all?
Figure out who'll be enraged and criticized!

Consider the fragility of spirit not reassured by self-worth,
but firmly strengthened by strong temptation and want;
the accumulation of riches without the value they impart,
pile up mountains of it only to show their immense wealth!

One of the richest men that ever existed pondered upon this,
hoping that his chosen heirs would be shrewd and not squander it
for some wits, but managed it wisely remembering his many sacrifices:
would they honor it with the certainty, not with the fear it wouldn't last?

Premium MemberUnrequited Love II

     The splendid, resplendent
           aurora sweeps the inner
                        life.
I stare at gory , leaden
         clouds , unable to deter
                  them.
From causing drops of blood to
run down the shrill , deathless
                         desert.
         A magnificent ,mazy grove
              is painted with colorful ,
              golden threads.
          The unassuming ,
              unflinching morn is
            the incarnation of sedate silence
         The wrathful , woundless
         creek thrives like
               rapturous hues of
                       serenity.
         What's the scope of
        :lifeless wretchedness?
         : dreamed embers?
           : unquenchable longing?
             : weeping anemone?
          The oracular , intricate soul
            shields a shaded woodland
              like a forested daybreak.

Brave Hearts

In rugged hills and snow-capped peaks so steep,
You climb with courage, your spirit does keep.
You stand firm, never faltering or weak,
Holding ground, with a victory sign  unique.

A brave encounter with nature's wild might,
Unshaken by enemies' bullets in sight.
Your border vigil shines like a beacon bright,
Hope and light in the darkest of night.

Death looms over , but you remain bold,
Love for the nation unflinching makes your spirit unfold.
You conquer fear, your valor untold,
A real  hero, with a story to be told.

Far from loved ones, yet steadfast and true,
Ensuring peaceful sleep, for all anew.
Heads bow down to you  in reverence and honor high,
Your sacrifice priceless, a treasured sigh.

Long live the brave hearts of this noble land,
Forever in our hearts, your memory stands grand.

Warrior

The flawless beat of a warrior's heart
Unflinching in a passioned breast.
Unfamed by drudge and dreary toil,
marching onward in a deathless quest.

Forged by iron in flaming truth,
each beat carved by an untouchable sword.
Unknown is a hero's sacred stance
upon the fabric of time's eternal Word.

In the Eye of a Horse

Yesterday, I stroked a horse:
I ran my hand along his back
And watched his every muscle twitch,

So sensitive—what a proud and
Ceremonious beast. He held his head
Lightly—comfortable, with no fear—
And his ears tipped gently forward,

Relaxed. They flicked around at every
Sound, but the horse was not tense.

He rested his weight equally along
All four of his strong yet delicate legs—
So slender you thought you could snap them

Like a twig. But this tall and respected creature
Could run at thirty miles-per-hour on
These legs of his. His kick could kill,
If it had that desired intention. But this horse,

So powerful in all its creation, stood
By my side—unflinching; unmoving:

It made its choice to allow my presence—
To allow my every touch of his body.

I rubbed his nose, and his dark eyes locked
With mine. They told a story, certainly:
He could remember his whole life.

Perhaps, even, he could see mine, but
It looked as though he could see even further
Than just the past and the present.

Just Part Of The Magic Of Being Alive

Have I done enough good
to offset the bad
have I delivered enough performances
that were deemed acceptable
to place in the chorus-line
my performances that were not
or
are my disappointing performances
out there centre-stage
whilst those that were pleasing
perform a bit part
a supporting role
unnoticed and unremembered
part of the scenery
a piece of the backdrop
against which my disappointments
powerfully present
well-remembered
indelibly definitive
give a command performance
have I become type-cast
rendered immutable
do I need to re-think my character
review my lines
change my costume
re-invent myself
or
do I become less of the harsh critic
the unflinching detractor
and give myself a break
go a little easy
allow what is me
to just be
am I faced with a conundrum
or
is the whole shebang
not a mystery
something be solved
but purely
just part of the magic of being alive.

Premium MemberTime Is Steadfast

People change from time to time
But time does not change for a dime
Time is money, that’s the slogan
Time is a serious and stalwart weapon
People change every hour of the day
But time remains steadfast everyday
Every hour, every minute and every second
Time has no hand, yet it is in high demand
People die every day, as more are born to die
This is the truth; I cannot tell a lie
Live and enjoy every second of the day
Because time is always slipping away
Time does not give change
People die and change all the time
That’s fine; that’s not a crime
Time possesses an unflinching range.

Premium MemberThe triumphant footpath

Strides along the lonely road fearlessly
the foredoomed lily groans with pain needlessly.
                       We gaze at the dazzling
                         sunshine unremittingly.
                        We pour the unflagging
                       idea of bliss unhesitatingly.
                         To our claim he relinquished
                         by our prospect is relished.
                           The unflinching dove sings
                           His starlit heart never stings.
Our heedless world a main, long-lived agony
hopes for the generation of being sunny.
