"Heel"
Another language speaks its truth
one’s truth is another’s war
Agamemnon and his achilles
to heel a virtue
to heal a cause
such an odyssey
styx and stones
Clytemnestra, silent
spartan subdued
a loss, a child
innocence stolen, spilt
on another’s alter for Troy
a loss, a sacrifice,
unfavourable weather
a familiar familial war
gods like mortals
mortals like gods
blood, not water spilt
the Odds,
two sides of a coin
another language speaks its truth
one’s truth is another’s war

They are nature's gifts to us,
A sign of its benevolence,
Her hands have sown and nurtured them,
They are to beautify our landscape.
They are evidence of nature's dexterity,
She watches over them with keen interest,
They are in her embrace,
They sprout spreading out their blossomed boughs.
All around us, they abound,
In our neighbourhoods, they can be found,
There's an aura of hope around them,
Some have weathered unfavourable climes.
We have lightly esteemed them,
We have discarded them from our communities,
They are not prized by us
as they are by nature.
Let’s heed the clarion call,
Restore the fallen,
Let’s be change makers.
Let's be nature drivers.

I am a girl who decided to go to school barefoot, because that’s what other young children from needy families in a village were used to…
I am a girl whose best childhood memory is playing with sapphire waves on a tranquil seaside and listening to chimes soaring from a temple…
I am a girl who read novels every afternoon to comfort her fragile grandmother critically ill suffering with deadly cancer…
A girl who sent the domestic help to school, and taught the boy language and math whenever she could...in a country where that was unheard of…
I am a girl who started teaching with lot of work and very little pay even though her husband earned a handsome salary, enough to live a life of comfort…
A girl who passionately attended a craft class in an unfavourable, almost scary, situation in a country where women did not drive and travel by themselves…
I am that girl who renewed her passions and started writing with a goal of being published, at the mature age when she completed all her family responsibilities…
Notes: recently wrote a bio-poem “I am who I am” for a contest and posted on Soup. Now wondering…isn’t this my real bio!!!!

Created with a single identity
My dignity, honour depends on that identity
Identity handed to me by Divinity
As Divinity did throughout humanity
Black is my originality, I seek not to lose it
Yet this double identity is forced on me
Ah my identity with white has been dotted
My culture, religion, tradition all stripped off me
The stripes all over me is the limitation
The white patches destroy my black orientation
Left me in an unfavourable, endless competition
Presumed me less a human because of my complexion
Now I want my blackness back, no more this mixture
Like a free bird I want to leap and fly up in the sky
To announce my freedom to the generations unborn
Only when the weight of this double identity is lifted

Trying to express horrifically unsavoury and odious acts of heinousness,
such unspeakable repugnant opprobrium packed with horrendousness
is a test stacked with specific unfavourable hopeless stress,
seen a crying fuzz of the weakened redundant mental mess.
You will find,
when telling of the mad,
you're unkind,
and seemingly bad.
People will treat you insanely s*it,
but insanity is you when you tell of it,
in short: if the stories are mad
and the people in them are mad
but nobody knows they are mad
when telling others you look mad
*because sometimes the simple words
better the poetry
with regards to simple minded herds,
that's what life is showing me

We live life's different chapters according to our age,
Sometimes we feel free to roam and sometimes we are in a cage,
Somehow we manage to accept the change,
Is life a stage?
Its not easy to live life on your own terms,
As we carry physical and emotional baggage being the ferns,
Situations comes and go, favourable or unfavourable; we must perform like an ace,
But still I ask, is life a stage?
I feel everyone's life has a purpose,
That's why we play different characters like in a circus,
Beauty of life lies in chorus of haze,
Even after knowing the answer, I wonder, why is life a stage...?
But yes, Life is a stage...
Life is a stage...!

Does the sheep wonder of its colour
Before it’s tarred with a brush
Does the sheep feel unfavourable
Without judgement from us
Does the sheep acknowledge its identity
Feel caged, suppressed or free
Does the sheep feel like a lesser sheep
If it’s left to simply be
Does the sheep recognise discomfort
From those irrationally frightened
Does the sheep care for such ignorance
Of those much less enlightened
Does the sheep seek to take from us
Responsibilities that are our own
Does the sheep wish to teach us all
Discrimination begins at home
Does the sheep even care to wonder
About these nonsensical things
Or
Does the sheep just want to chew its grass
And see what each day brings

It has evolved amazingly
The creativity has smoothly overlapped
The event is formulating itself
The chase is no more
Must I say more
It has travelled all over the world
The humanity it has established
The honour it has been given
The ink needs a refill
Must I reveal more
It has grown under unfavourable environment
The knowledge it had acquired
The wisdom it had received
The book has been finally written
Must I feel more

Ante Up For Love
Love is a gamble, the players facing unfavourable odds.
Still you risk that which you can't afford to lose.
Never able to explain or recover the loss.
The cards have been shuffled
and ready to be dealt.
Are you in? Ante up!

Matters not they
Be taught
To be strong
To be self-sufficient
They are educated
Well informed
Utterly smart & upbeat
Their presence is felt
But alas there are hounds
Everywhere
Wanting to give in
To their demands
They entice& engulf them
With their charms
No scope for reluctance is left
No way out but to give in
Lest bullying and killing
Its a turbulent time for a girl
What to do how to shelter?
They are victims of amorous desires
Being a girl is not easy
In times so unfavourable
When will people change
When will a girls desire be honoured!.

Criticism to the simple-minded
kills companionship
To the shrewd
it is like pain
to the body
Simply a caution
as to unfavourable state of things
And that abrupt attention
is necessary.
Throw your critic ball warily
against the wall of energies
As the rebound might
transform your remaining years
The transformation caused by
the time, skill and energy
invested In bringing to life
the imaginary into existence
While the uninformed views
point out errors

Please Leave us in peace
Among the tall trees
Leave us not in pieces
For the dirge is never near
For the morning await the arrival
Of the warlords, Ranyinudo Osinachi
There are many broken thoughts
Yet unfinished business but
Leave us not in doubt and pains
Let the sun not antagonize
Our humble soul in hell
Let the rain shower in our lives
Shower of blessing shall it be
When the flowers shall wave
To us in joy not in sorrow
Even though you must go
Leave us to fight and to love
For our cause not yours
Even though you must cry
Cry for joy and accomplishment
not for unfavourable land
I do not watch in watery eyes
But my i watch in great pain
Never wish in pain nor tears
understand the hand written on the wall
All we need now is future which
bring respect to the home we emerged
I cry only for the bond between us
Which exit not in others
Ranyinudo, for mother is around your side
Cracking the air for the movement
of equal right we share not

Some term it as choking, but I see
it differently. When it hurts this bad,
it feels like you are drowning.
Nothing seems to be working. All
roads leads to doom and gory.
Funny how I never once saw light
ever. Does that mean that there
isn't an end to this tunnel? Who do I
lean on? Who do I cry to? Feels like
been a pawn on a chess board,
knowin u are bound to meet an
unfavourable end.

A recluse nicknamed ‘nun of Amherst
Wrote rhymes about death, faith and curse
‘Springfield Republican’ cleaved her mind
Where thoughts are joined you will find
‘Hope is the thing with feathers’
Where sweetest sound of gale is heard
She left an indelible mark on most
Who felt her depth and got engrossed
In life she didn’t get much recognition
Her poems surpassed every mission
‘I asked no other thing’
Gave a reason for being
In spite of unfavourable reviews and scepticism
She never let go of life’s schism
She died at a very tender age
And the world still suffers from her passage

Freedom of the soul to pierce through new scenes, dimensions, heights and regions
Brevity taken and sometimes manoeuvred to serendipity
Glorious asunder from the usual
Footprints of pathways a must to display victory
Persistence, despite barricades, obstructions blurring visions, unfavourable conditions,
situations …
An attempt trying to answer unanswered questions and questionable answers
Going into un-explored areas, giving meaning and attention to areas un-noticed, unseen,
un-discovered
Makes life worth sacrificing for
Not present in the mathematical equations or discoveries but the heart of love, dedication
to service, a wholehearted sense of commitment, willingness to help, support, assist,
create, deduce….
There lies the power of a beautiful mind breaking barriers and deviating from the usual
normal, toward the ideal perfection that lies upward, higher not necessarily what lies ahead……
