Premium MemberSpring Is In the Air

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And the birds are chirping
And singing their happy songs.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And the bees are pollinating the
Blossoms in the flowers and trees.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
But there is another side to Spring
To which we should all be aware.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And we are enthralled by its beauty.
But be wise and advised of its dark side.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
But that doesn't mean
We don't have a care.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And so are mosquitoes
And other undesirables.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And so are allergenic pollens.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And so are bees and wasps.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And hibernators are out.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And the snow is melting,
Causing massive landslides
And flooding the lowlands.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And flies, flees, and snakes
Are looking for things to eat.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
And it's a great time of the year.
And we need not worry, fret, or fear.
But there are some things out there
That might engender a tear.

Oddities

Often, oddities do prevail;
Certainties dim, making life pale.
As good as beauty, flits like a breeze,
While oddities come with unassuming ease.
What finery the world has craved,
In ages past, as time has waved.

And to speak of oddities, we find:
The slime, the ooze, the unsightly kind.
The ugly, the charred, the jagged and torn,
The mangled, the putrid, and all things worn.
The repugnant, unwanted, the frail we see—
All undesirables: disease, hunger, and glee.
There's always a flaw, it seems to be true,
Yet beauty's in flaws, as we all pursue.

Yet we love to witness where oddities fail,
Conspiring to shatter our cherished old tales.
Whether luck or a miracle shows up to play,
It all depends on the thoughts of the day.

We've never cared less, yet they still abound,
Like mosquitoes that buzz, they’re always around.
No matter the wisdom, nor plans we devise,
Oddities linger, like shadows that rise.

What starts out sweet often ends up in strife,
And what begins bitter may blossom in life.
Oh, the wisdom perhaps in embracing our fate,
In the dalliance with oddities, we learn to mitigate.

In the Shade of the Setting Son

Not at once, but gradually at my feet
random leaves, brown and brittle
carpenters diligently march in
leaving my bark somewhat non-committal

Furtively, up grow the undesirables
the weedy weeds and the pesty pests
erstwhile friends in the summer sun
the heavenly snag inviting inquests

Wounded tree under forest affliction
how to water; too little, too much
scarred by the bear claw and lightning strike
yielding to the woodpecker, chickadee and bluebird clutch

Where only warmth now lingers, the flame once fired
stands the smiling woodsman cleaning his plate
glistening against my trunk in the wink of a rising sun
a sharpened ax waits and waits

Referendum

Twenty-six countries can never agree.
As all are so different you see.
Open borders opens doors.
To all and sundry I implore.

Now in these troubled times you know.
All doors should be closed so.
No undesirables enter you know.
And cause upset, to those we know.

So as you lock your door at night.
To keep all safe and out of sight.
Of all those who mean you harm.
So shut her borders, don't be alarmed.

We could still trade every day.
Would need to search your loads I say.
Just in case all was not as should be.
And you're not on a killing spree.

If you kill yourself, I might agree.
But sadly not, if you will kill me.
That's why our borders.
Should be closed you see.
Just to save, you and me

The Cats Meow

What now brown cow is there some sort of contention going on here?
I only wanted to indulge in some small form of nourishment here;
And you can at times provide such a tasty morsel,
I am after all just a cat who desires his occasional saucer.
So how about we come to an agreement;
I’ll keep those certain type of undesirables out of your sleeping area;
And in turn perhaps you might indulge me on occasion.
I do you know so admire those big black eyes of yours;
And in my moments of indulgence’s I imagine swimming in them.
I don’t know maybe I could even love you except it is an impossible love.
You have your place here as the provider of substance for all your little ones;
And me I can’t stay home at night because it’s my time to take inventory.
I’ve got old acquaintances to see, newcomers soon to be in need of my attentions.
But hey what say we jump over the moon tonight?
Right now I can hear a rhyme about us doing just that.
So come on Daisy help a cat out don’t be so predictable just once.

Do We Choose Whom We Love and Ignore Those We Don'T

Why Do We “Choose” Whom We Love… And Ignore Others?

Why do we often “choose” those we love…
And ignore those we don’t?
It’s a good thing that Christ doesn’t do this! He won’t!

Far too often,… People attending church today…
Will many times “choose” whom they’ll love…
And turn others away?

I’ve heard sermons preached
on how we must love others too...
For many, It’s too “inconvenient,”
to love others like we should do!

What about the “undesirables?”
Those who fall through the cracks?
It doesn’t matter if someone is from
“the wrong side of the tracks!”

I pray that God will stir in all of us
a deep compassion within!
Perhaps, by our example…
Others will be born again!

May our life be one that is filled
with sacrifice and giving!
May it be an expression of Christ!
And his power of forgiving!

May we strive to treat others and love them all the same!
If we don’t follow Christ’ example…
We have ourselves to blame!

Christ’ word has laid the foundation
 for loving every soul!
The mission field is all around us!
 Let’s get up and GO!

It's 3am
In this country of mine
Another undesirable
It was just a matter of time

Are they through the front door
Or through the back
Is there a lack of security
Questions to be asked?

Any sites Admin
Should be on their toes
It's in their best interest
Or anarchy flows

If undesirables appear
They should be vetted as such
And if they don't comply
They are kicked into touch

What are the legalities
In our premium fee's
When there is no protection
The undesirables run free

Today's date
Is the 28th of November
It is their duty
To report this sender

How do we know
Who we answer to?
It's time to show face
And show that your true

If actions are not taken
A different road we go down
Who has the courage
To hang their heads and frown

The TV’s raving the Mexicana flew choo
The trains gathering a head chaaaaaaa chooo.

The government needs a new control to
stop the immigrations flow to…..
It’s amazing the lengths I think they’ll go to
The trains gathering a head chaaaaaaa chooo
Body aches are screaming too
perhaps, I have the swine flu too?

Population was exploding
those undesirables were imploding
Firesign Theatre* did a FORETOLDIN
“You’ve got the disease!” their game show hostin

It’s amazing what a little bittie bug can do
to solve the problems of YOU KNOW WHO.
