Tennis shoes paraded through my mind
Taking me hostage and tying me up.
With laces that seemed longer than most
They were designed with neon colors
Not one or two, but six or seven.
They were prettier than party confetti.
I was intrigued by them, for they had minds
And opinions and they held secrets.
I tried to coax them to tell, but they refused
Parading to the music in my imagination
Dancing and hopping, skipping and bragging
In a lively, happy, unconstructed way
I shall be a tennis shoe in my next life, I thought.
They are revered and loved, and they get to dance.
And hop and skip. What could be better?

Alas, t'would mean the words would weep
Alone in unconstructed phrase
Hanging fruit ne'er to be picked
Nor fall to seed again.
No swords succumb in verbal joust
To plow shares love of peace
No flower passed to maiden fair
To adorn the flax of wind blown hair.
No Mariners to tell their tale
Of thirsting decks sun bleached
No fully clothed, yet naked kings
No twisted word that laughs, yet stings.
As rainbows weep and shadows flee
Sweet words lay fallow in the fields
Pen-less poets hide from sight
Surrendering their shields.

To say the universe always existed violates every concept of our logic.
The origin of our totality could not have been a spontaneous event.
A beginning requires a beginner. We have no concept of what always was, except by supplanting what might be with what is through faith. Faith permits us to believe the incredible, which means; extraordinary things do not always require empiricle evidence.
Faith is unconstructed. It's a gift. It's either presented to you through conviction, or it's not. You eiher possess it, or you do not.
With faith, we know love and with love we find strength. Without faith, love cannot exist and without love, existance would be inconsequential.
To deny the existance of God is to doubt the love in our own significance...

We were in love
And we knew it
It was not lust
But we blew it
Assumptions were made
Middlemen consulted
That was the fall
Of love unconstructed
Love not nurtured
Is love denied
How dare you be timid
Of love divine
Have you found love
Hold on to her
Be not overly courteous
Fight you must for her
We are in love
And we know it
It is not lust
Will we blow it
