Cloaked In Their Untruths

Cloaked in Their Untruths
By Sy Roth

Behind a cloak their little secrets roved,
Like silent, swishing vagrants eluding the truth
The darkness so thick,
A wall of impenetrable secrets built around it.

Leaving the unclosing to callow youth
Senseless in their wasteful trepidation,
They took no time to explore their truths
Dressed in slim, tight gabardine their desires arrested.

They had no need to validate,
No desires to explore.
Lost opportunities heaped into a morass of speculation
Until the voices of the antecedents were silenced.

Screams of loss as the span between life and death widen
They find in their own selves no validity
Only a vacuity in a tale filled with inconsistencies
That are bungee cords flipping them hither and yon unbound.

No way to make whole the person in a sere fabric
When the stories are filled with imagined realities.
They erect their own corpus on a land of falsities
Left only with mislaid dreams of not taking time with the whole cloth.

Premium MemberDeep Loneliness

his sweet scent of mere love still lives on

I walk, hark nature's moving sounds
carried softly through forest paths
nostalgic scent of rheumy dew grounds.

fleeting dappled somber fingers
unclosing against vast horizon, cause
without orb so nimble lingers.

braids of pain stifle mine madness
loves unavoidable perpetual wink; mine
pate bowed with cherishing sadness

I walk, hear nature's moving sounds
carried slowly through forest paths
nostalgic scent of moist dew grounds.

fleeting dappled somber fingers
unclosing against vast sky, cause
outside world so nimble lingers.

braids of pain stifle my madness
loves unavoidable death; my
head bowed with cherishing sadness.

Sullen gray-and-black leaden fingers
unclosing against vast sky, cause
the outside world seems to run
away in grim silence.
Once love so real,
now mere echo
in the weak
moonlight
rays
as
fragrant
gold flaming
honeysuckle
vines bound into a
braid around too narrow
garden bower. I sit on
a settee, in the pavilion,
my head down with cherishing sadness.

Once My Love I Dreamed To Well

Once my love I dreamed to well
Of all that silence doeth entail
The hush and gentle quivering
Of midnight and the shivering
Of moon beneath the maddened night
Of moons celestial candlelight
There a morbid moon and gloom
And all the darkness that is doom
Should sweep in silence o’er my soul
And find me less that time ago
Less than times more dismal space
Which no candor can erase
Less than times unclosing eye
Gazing on a distant wry

Once my love I dreamed to well
Likes roses on a distant knell
Do bloom with red resplendidly
Do blush and then conceive

Once my love I dreamed to well
Of all that silence doth entail
The doleful sorrow and its sound
Like a whisper never found
Like a whisper on the height
Of romance in its plight
Far beyond the stolid trees
Far beneath the wake of eve
Where in the vast and distant deep
Only shadows subtly creep,
Once my love I dreamed to well

Deposition

Do not snatch away the
clouds in disdain.
The snowy peaks were burning.

If you do not run with
the moon,
I will not blink.

Unclosing the chapter
a chill develops when
a harbinger of mayhem –

comes to my house.
A graphic testimony
will give you the details-

of disintegrating sheen.
The Neanderthal man used
to make a flute from the bird bone.

Bewildering

The restless legs take you,
weightless, to marshes
to find the stilts.
The sea was rising.

What was inside our tongues;
such unclosing stink,
we were afraid to spit it out ?
The wronged angels were waiting.

A topless soul wanders in the
rainforest.Amazing, the tigers were
dead without wounds.You sit on
the window for marrying a moon.

The quick grafting of the roses was
useless. All night it had rained. The hail-
stones were as big as skulls. Eyes were
gouged out and time was blind.

Introspective

the pulsating ache of flogging
after internal cave-in, a goldfish gets smeared
with sperm, unclosing, opening a slaughtered canal
for the drooping roses under the black wings

of shame when in our translucency we were
generously distributing arms to legless boys
for transporting the name across the aisle of memories,
the history repeats again in agony

of centuries. The salt inside a name wakes up
a darkness hauled up from eyes of faithfulls
between the sentences and nude angels, a stroke
will empty the womb of earth;

i do not want to know, what will happen to shaking
robots of mercy-homes, drilling the holes in
walls of love ? Will the rain come again of red
drizzle on the mountains, the drought had already sucked up

What Am I

He still has my heart in his hands
He carefully lays it down where it lands
On the sands of the beach
Where he teasingly tries not to preach
About his love for me
But my love for him is like a tree
Growing more and more each day
Growing stronger with the sun's last ray
But then he might say
That he has to leave, he has to go
And he doesn't exactly know
When he will be back
But please don't let it rack my mind with furry
For in time it will only cause worry
For now we have parted
I have gone into the sea
He has darted onto the shore
Now we will close that unclosing door
