A turncoat sheds his skin, like autumn leaves,
To don a new coat with many bright hues.
With a mask, and an overcoat for thieves,
For whom or what, when, his deceit may choose.
Once clad in virtue, now as a fraud dressed,
Hiding the old spots of truth frayed, faded,
That once for friends and loyalties professed,
Now remain as scars, torn and abraded.
He knows no truth, nor love, nor noble dream,
For chameleon's spots are insecure,
Flitting and feigning camouflaged esteem,
Beneath the coat of colored spots, impure.
Can a change of skin or spots on a coat,
Ever excuse a lying turncoat's gloat?

All
of our
picnic dates
like summer heat
became memories;
Now with a little bite
gluttony turns my stomach;
A taste I once loved makes me sick;
Starve or should I indulge my cravings?
I can’t let turncoat flavor wake a ghost.

For you have my stalwart friend,
Stood by me no matter what!
No false cloak of religiosity have
you hidden behind.
Nor various forms of poetic pomposity!
But you?
Alas you who I did trust.
Oh, to use the Lord, just to gain
popularity?
Then drop His cross and show
your true identity?
The worst form of usury.
Flattery in His holy name to climb
the human tree,
To be top monkey on the poetry
tree.
Sad, sad and more than tears can shed.
A soul for sale at any cost which
doth include cutting off your friend's head!

Ralph had used her as a transitory scapegoat throughout life.
Feigning to dissipate the almost daily, inurbane strife,
capricious Rikki could always flatter his malignant pride.
A perspicuous grace note, she overlooked each time he lied.
Seemingly, his constant intention was to alienate;
Ralph was that turncoat to whom Rikki was game to gravitate.
