Is it worth it when you travel
But you wind up getting sick?
Seems like Covid and vacations,
In conjunction, somehow click.
After flying home from Paris,
People sneezing on the plane,
I felt tired, but the reason
Could have choices to explain.
Is it jet lag? Is it Covid?
Well, I took a swab-type test
And in fifteen minutes – Voila!
Just confirming what I’d guessed.
So I’m stuck at home with Covid,
But I really do not know,
If this outcome was for certain,
Would I’ve chosen then to go?

Travel on yet not far
For winter is near
Cold snow gusty winds
Six horses and wagon
Not long ago we were them
Trudging through snow
Today is so different
We are weak and helpless
Tricked by modern science
With ease we drive a car
No horses to feed or ride
No more candles to make
Just flip a switch
We now talk to machines
Water in bottles not in a creek
No more cuddling by a fire or
Food created by mans hands
Now bought in a store and processed
Amazing creations at what price
Love is now a hidden word
That no one knows its definition
We have traded our love
For these new creations
Becoming lazy and placing love in
2nd place

You have at your ready
A million pieces of eight
Taken from the hold of a pirate ship
The ship is sailing now
in distant waters
You have at your ready
a long- lost field
where you can hide your treasure
if your goal is to be wealthy
why then you've made it
I'm sure, however
you miss riding
under a skull and crossbones
Looting villages, causing mayhem
You'll get your chance again
if not now - then sometime
in the future (not too far off)

Red bulb
casts sultry shadow
across the
room
spilling onto the
street
air heavy with
illicit
night scent
rain smog weed and
jack
clinging
along for the ride
blurry eyed
distorted reflection dares you
“look up”
shoes
high with painted toes
pulse quickens
stockinged legs the
pathway to shapely hips and
white lace panties
silk
skims navel and
cups breasts
dark
hair spills
tense anticipation
fear
molten lava veins
palms
sweat
heart pounds in ears
feet carry forward
musty
perfume envelopes and
draws into her
realm
cash binds
the deal
one night of
passion
for your
probity

In all the days of sinless pain
Where nightmares come
Like a pouring rain
Where my dying heart
Feeling only glum
Will soon depart
From the one I love
And shattered dreams
Like a fallen dove
And lonely screams
To the one above
Oh help me please
Don't let her go
I am on my knees
I will give my life
In quid pro quo
