Premium Membera fickle flip scares the butterfly

Oh the power of the narcissistic
would be king enthroned,
crowned not with wisdom,
but with arrogance,
delusion and nihilism.

The crowd waits on his every word
which has the power
to flip the world order
from boom to flop
from soar to bust
to tip the seesaw
to flip-flop panic.

Why should one person,
posting his own thoughts social
in the middle of the night
have the power to scare
the butterfly, making it
flap its wings,
triggering the accord
to tip off the cliff
Into chaos.

Premium MemberOnce Upon a Time Lived I

To nature's norms have I complied -
I laughed, I cried, I lived. I tried.

I'd like to think in aftermath
There's more to my existence path.
I paid the procreation dues,
Dear offspring and their offspring too.
My children opened up my eyes
Far beyond me, myself and I.
The grandkids taught me quite a bit -
There's more to golden age than knit.

No shutters to wondering mind,
Just open it and you will find -
In brighter hue the greener grass
Is on our side in front of us.
Power is not how much but how
To stay aboard the flight of now.
Retired bliss converts the course -
Discretionary time to pause.

Smelling the roses is a must
As flower fanfare fading fast.
Hunger for knowledge, free to sate,
But wisdom's pride is heavyweight.
(No known tip-off to neutralize -
To shed the weights and keep the wise).
The all time norm by which I vow -
Not there nor then but here and now.

To nature's norms have I complied -
Once upon a time lived I!

A Bloody Mary For One, Please

Being anything but cold is rare for you.
Utterly and shamelessly aloof is but a default setting for you, although could it still be considered ‘aloof’ if it’s on purpose?
Too nonchalant to notice the people around to falling to pieces at your feet.
Too preoccupied with your selfish human desires to take into consideration the karmic tab you’re stacking up, and yet,
Even when you’re paying attention, you’re still somehow... not there.
Ridiculously obsessed with your self-image, just enough to tip off the start to your downfall.
Firmly believing your own lies is the reason you’ve successfully convinced everyone around you of them too.
Living out your deceit, fooling everybody into believing you could be a genuine soul, that you could be authentic – as if you’re a lowlife method actor on the brink of withering away.
You could not fool me, though. I saw right through you and your transparent wings, and you couldn’t handle being seen, oh, how very ‘dear in the headlights’ of you.

I knew you were cold-blooded,
But I never expected you to be a fraud.

Basketball tip off at grade school game
My biggest lifetime shot at fame
Got the ball and took off
Heard the yells from aloft
Wrong way I went but good my aim

Premium MemberExile On a Whim

Doors slam, windows crack, letter flap inhales a fatal
wind.
Breastplate rusty dragon bearing scars.
House keys, credit cards, raybans close to hand.
Faux fur on the rack for noble bounty,
footnotes to a chapter without end.
Wistfully I crane my neck in peril,
finger marks on carbon black hand rail,
sprightly dash o’er slippy granite steps.
Odour eaters clog my leather shoes beyond endurance.
Butterflies somersault in tummy.
Elm tree barnet‘s awkward wooden stump.
Wheelie bin begging for collection at short notice.
Bin tag compass grazed.
Crack of dawn ghost ship’s uncanny horn blast.
Metaphor or tip off for deaf ears.
Egg shell clouds that dance on distant peaks
quaintly beckon.
Despite my better judgement I press on.

The Spartans

Ancient tales slashed our vineyard,
We were the bloodshed of love...
Cupid fleshed our hearts.

Austere eyesights.
Fierce catch upon your mark,
Am your prey in the love arena...

I escort this frugal lover.
His achillean personality enchants every man,
I am the residue of my manhood...

Close the cishet doors,
Let the cue tip-off,
You will be my man besides the world.
Two kings for a kingdom.

Tip Top Tick Tock

6/25/21

It began with a tip off
This ain't the time or place for flip flops

God damn boy, I sip lots
It was or wasn't a twist off

Using glass instead of a zip lock
While pushing for past the tip top

Bi*** stop
You can kick rocks
It pops
Off a lot
Some do the Crip walk
Far too often people s*** talk
In a fit of rage, many got flipped off
Afterward there was six shots
From a gripped Glock
Not no flintlock
For those that witnessed it shocked

A continual drip drop
And constant tick tock
Regarding real life realize it's not
No game or one bit soft

Had ups and downs but never did stop
On any side of the hill top
While below or on a cliff top
Remained grounded or reached lift off
Gone beyond hip hop
Remained in a gridlock
All of it brought
Happiness or being pissed off
Felt emptiness or filled to the top
Adapt, move on, remember opportunity still knocks
You either will or will not
Could end it all if I pill pop
While wearing a silk top
Went right for the kill shot

The Legend of Jack's Father

This is the legend of Jack’s father
and to brag about him Jack won’t even bother
‘cause truth is not a virtue he inherits
and integrity’s a trait beneath his merits

Jack’s father takes the tip off every table
and parks his car in spots for the disabled
yeah Jack knows he’s a gambler and a liar
(not the mentor he was hoping to aspire)

If he can get away with stuff he WILL try
and he’s always at the ready with an alibi
Like the time he told Jack’s mother he’d be working late
when he was out with his mistress on a dinner date

But Jack’s mother’s oh-so-clever in her own way
she tells Jack “your dad will pay the piper someday
his lack of love and character will soon show
and there’ll be nothing of a legend left when he goes."

Her prediction was quite evident that weekend
when Jack’s father tried to steal from his best friend
but he couldn’t out run the Pit bull that was inside
(the neighbors just stood filming him as he cried)

“Oh help me please I’m really not a bad bloke”
but he became the 'butt' of every lame joke
‘cause his rear end bears the scars below his britches
(Jack's mum can't help but smile while doin' dishes)

Human Trafficking

She ran away,
Into the night,
Alone and sad.

They saw her,
Watched, then approached,
Offered her kindness.

She felt safe,
With innocent trust
She accepted friendship,
Went with them,
Believed in goodness.

They beat her.
Force fed drugs,
Imprisoned, bound, gagged.
Trapped and scared
She wet herself.

Men came in
Violated, ravished, despoiled.
Screaming in pain,
Hungry and cold.
The abuse continued,
Day after day
Death threats delivered.

Family and friends
Search and appeal.
Police examine evidence.

Twelve hour shifts
In sexual slavery,
No possible escape,
Branded by ink.
Feelings of repugnance
She covets death.

A tip off
Activates Police raid.
They find her,
Bruised, petrified, vacant.
Inside a cage,
Blemished, defiled, impure.

Reunited with family,
Striving for normality,
An uphill climb.
Courage and tenacity
Needed for survival.
Guilty and impure.
Never again to
Be a child.

Hats Off To Lori

I need just to tip off my hat to inspire
this palest of blonds in her bristling fire
From glints in her eyes which force me to smile
to dreams she lays out like a feast.
I wish to be near her and wander her presence
from every word which becomes every sentence
From family to friend in a spark of an instant
this sister of mine is complete.

All of your dreams are quite safe with me
I'll fill up my hat with you eternally
From moonshine to cold in our hair in the city
we memorize every street.
Let's always promise to keep this connection
of just you and me and a night of perfection
From winter's embrace to our laughing reflections
Replacing my hat, I'm complete.
