Here in Canada, it is no misreport
to say that ice hockey is our national sport,
but over the last number of years it would certainly seem
that a "summer sport" applies to our favourite team.
A game actually played in spring, summer and fall,
it's an import, "America's Pastime", I'm talkin' 'bout baseball!
And the team that inspires so much loyalty and praise
in this country is, of course, the Toronto Blue Jays!
Canada is a nation of great contrast and variety,
a mosaic, not a melting pot, of ethnic diversity.
But if there's anything that can unite us
(I'm so delighted to report),
it's the fortunes of a team in a much-loved sport.
Here, the Jays have a following across this big land,
from the high western mountains to the wide eastern strand.
No other team in baseball can make this claim;
not the damn Yankees or Dodgers with all of their fame.
So if you visit Canada, just so you know...
you'll be in Blue Jays country. Go Jays Go!!!
A nightmare but oh this “great” team
Loves making the suffering scream
There’s no place to hide
While those on this ride
Think they’ll resurrect Hitler’s dream
The Team
Life’s quest begins with natural talent to ascend,
On two legs in motion and words for communication.
With parental guidance and skill development by trial and error,
And observation and utilization of education as time progresses,
Every adventure is new and exciting as the senses are invigorated
And where leaps and bounds are greeted with self-satisfaction.
As years pass, physical and mental development focuses
On windows of opportunity that life offers for existence
Through failure and accomplishment in living experience.
Ambitions realized question rewards and behaviours
That require skill sets and demand continuous repetition
Until exhausted; success may not be the resulting accumulation.
The path to the summit requires effort and commitment
Of physical exertion, and mental capacity to attempt the challenge
With a methodical stratagem, deeper understanding, and patience.
Now is the time for reflection: “How did I arrive at this place in time?”
Many believed in your abilities; the joy and pain, setbacks and gains,
But you are not alone; a team coincides behind you every step of the way.

A lways remember ~ your all loved
M e I'm just one voice I know your loved by all
There's no I in team
I hate this saying
Am I not apart of the team?
When my coaches say it it's so annoying
It makes no sense
Like I get that there's literally no I in the word team
But if you think about it the other way then it's wrong
I don't know it might just be me
Picking twenty-five to be profound or dazzle,
concisely, causes coach's mind to frazzle.
A word choice made - "You're on my roster.
Suit up, 'snollygoster'".
I didn’t know what it meant at first—
just a jersey, a name, a place to stand.
But somewhere between the early mornings
and the laughter that echoed a little too loud,
it became something more.
It became you.
All of you.
The way we lift each other up
without even thinking twice,
the way we turn mistakes into motivation
and hard days into something worth remembering.
It’s in every cheer, every glance, every quiet “you got this”
that somehow means everything.
I’m grateful for the moments
no one else really sees—
the inside jokes, the tired smiles,
the way we keep going even when it’s hard.
Because being on this team
isn’t just about winning
or being the best.
It’s about belonging.
And I’m so grateful
that I belong here with you.
My team had just lost a volleyball match and I realized my water bottle was empty
I was filling it up when I said to my friend next to me, my whole team's kinda depressed
He responded, ya I saw their faces and they all looked mad then I saw yours and you were your usual self
This touched me because I work really hard to be positive and it's showing because my friend said that's how I usually am
I was the only one on my team that wasn't sad, I was smiling, goofing around and talking to everyone
Do not be resentful
When people leave you
Everyone with their journey
They leave not because of hate
But because they've reached a point
Where they have to branch
Moving in their direction
Towards their destination.
We all crossed paths
For a reason or based on season
Best known to the Almighty
To be fulfilled is to be redeemed
But know your team
Which are your tribes
Not by language
But according to the goals.
The path of truth
Always leads us
Back to our roots
Birthing self awareness
Poising you to act not react
Restoring your pride
Putting you on the map
Opening paths for greatness.
Here’s teetotaler Trump and his team,
All there to fulfil MAGA dream.
Let Trump be abstemious,
But his team drinks copious,
Comes on top of table
FBI’s Ka$h Patel,
His Bourbon drink filled to the brim.
There’s White House ‘happy hour’
Which they deny, never,
Take war secretary
Who telltale tales carry,
That of Labour, a miss,
Always drinks in office,
There’s Rudy Giullani
And unknown so many…
No wonder, MAGA dream looks grim.

BUILDING SA TOGETHER AND LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND
South Africa our Nation
'Cause of some actions
We have been apart
hatred filled in our hearts
Cries heard day to night
during day day light disappearing
We have been captured as rats
We lived with threats
Our lives as hard as nuts
We should not make eye to eye
rather let bygons be bygons
We must bury the hatchet
we no its easy to say than to do
Do stand together by any means
lets go at making everything right
For our Nation to have light
If we stand together wecan win
Win this battle together as a pride
Because someday when I have it all
Everything that I dreamed of
I will still think about you (and us?)
About everything that could have been
When I chose to walk away
From a future we could have made.
Sometimes our best decisions become our lifelong regrets
That one other way, the other outcome
We can only wonder in thoughts
About a world that could have been
Had we chosen to hold that hand
And instead of splitting apart
Remained a team.
We have our strengths,
we have our quirks... and
together we're quite the team.
Let's just agree that
you keep being you
and I'll keep being me.
AP: Honorable Mention 2026
The world was quiet at first,
just another ordinary day
until the sky cracked open
with the sound of thunder
and danger stepped onto the streets.
From the clouds came a god of storms,
his hammer calling lightning to his hand.
A man of iron cut through the air like fire,
while a soldier with an unbreakable shield
stood ready to defend the weak.
Then the ground began to tremble
not from fear, but from power.
A giant of emerald rage rose like a mountain,
while silent fighters moved in the shadows,
swift as arrows, sharp as justice.
Different powers.
Different stories.
But when darkness grows too strong for one hero
they stand side by side,
and the world remembers their name:
The Avengers.
