just one more

I remember when
age was a candle number ~
now it is ignored
until count down tells on years ~
then you beg for just one more

Before

Anguish and Sorrow,
Is begotten to abyss,
Light does not exist,
Mass no actuality,
Until blessed by sacred will.

In Mary’s warm arms
Laid burning love wrapped in flesh
An incinerating light  

Surprise, Surprise

September, the third,
gifts, awaiting my lover.
Time tails, until 'noon,
surprising her, surprised me ~
set plans overpowered mine.

Childhood Memories

adventurous days
running through wildflower fields
carefree memories
of playing with my siblings
birthday parties and skating

first day of grade school
a bit shy to make new friends
riding a school

Just August

It is just August,
days dusty and hellish hot,
but I don’t notice.
A mercurial Virgo, 
I might change my mind.

Candle In a Jar

It was my daughter in law’s birthday. The dinner celebration at the restaurant did not include dessert.
