Wondrously divine in its transcendence
God’s love* affirms kindness of providence
Radiating tender mercy’s resplendence
Defying any counter evidence….
My heart does claim with grateful confidence.
Marked by compassionate condescendence
Christ’s love is offered with heaven’s credence
Midst His sacrifice against impudence
Asserting biblical jurisprudence…
My faith accepts along praise-filled prudence.
Wrought with sovereign superintendence
The Lord’s love marches through grace-incidence
Redeeming those in sin-guilt despondence
Pardoning them from confessed decadence…
My soul receives midst earnest dependence.
Blest to grant everlasting residence
Saviour’s love gives hope of trust’s precedence
From hell’s eternal evil dissidence
Imputing righteousness with peace cadence…
My life owns against selfish diffidence.
*1John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

They have stuffed those waxes on purpose beyond your knowledge,
If you want to poke them, be prepared for execution,
Beware of the bullets, and the hangman,
And prepare for the place beyond.
In this place:
We are blind, we do not see,
We are dumb, we do not speak,
We are deaf, we do not hear,
We can only forgive our adversaries and forget.
In this place:
There is no oppression,
There is neither hierarchy nor superintendence,
We are all peaceful sleepers,
Resting our minds from many years of exile.
Under the stern, watchful superintendence
Of whispering palms on the white sand coast
Where a thousand strong bow to the breeze
And thousands more swing to the beat
Giriama dancers caress their kayambas
With bared breasts teasing the gathering
With bared chests beating the drums
Enhanced buttocks mesmerizing the palms
And semi-nude tourists wondering aloud
How this state of undress survived it all.
The waters of the ocean had receded
To eat grass, those in the know said
And would return in an hour or two
The sun had climbed above our heads
Fiercely defending its lofty position
As the coast dancers in seeming ease
Perhaps unafraid of the damning rays
Defied the heat in typical fashion
And dared the eager, curious visitors
To shake a leg, or break it trying!
