A city block vendor chimes pleasantries prouder
than Muzak or an unseen crow in the background
elevating alarm clock music in the caws
uncredited and angrily growing louder.
A walkway narrows between the vendor
and a building. I teeter between both
as I pass by her grill
parked beside the vape shop. A blistering warmth
whitens piled pink hotdogs and tickles my ribcage.
A parakeet on her shoulder
is flaking off the sun and feathering the moon.
Steamy sundowns moisten her saucer eyes.
One dog pops sausage through its skin. She fans
the minty menthol. I pay the price
for squinting. I've dropped my glasses. Splitting
off-key shattered glass,
the containment of what used to be
bits of me shows up digits-bloodied.
Long after the initial sweep up,
little jagged cuts still happen.

Swiftly
Pass the moments,
Minutes, hours, the sun-ups
And sundowns of a lifetime spent
With you.

He is marvelous when it comes to issues of development.
He has been named the nation`s hottest footballer at the moment.
In the field of play he outshines, dazzles and dribbles past opponents.
An inspiration, through his foundation, he pays school fees for students.
A philanthropic star midfielder who dribbled past poverty to prosperity.
A visionary, his academy is taking shape, it will propel others to immensity.
He plays as a central midfielder for English Premier League club Aston Villa
and the Zimbabwe national team. He plays with charisma and is a solid pillar.
He was an Under-13 player for Njube Sundowns before joining Bulawayo’s Bosso.
Since he excels, if football were music, Marvelous Nakamba would be a valiant virtuoso!

Small Ramada vacation time
Unutterable sundowns
Mid-solar dawns early sun rise
Many moderate new moons
Ethereal dawns
Respective solid solstices
Thermally heated topical formulations
Idle pastimes individual heated
Many bright days
Early cool daylight heated evening nights

Bouquets of eastern starlings, raving.
Reaching out, fledgling saving,
The garden sloth of heaven's hues
Living in a bath of saffron dews.
Darkend the plough that snails follow
With troughs behind it tumbling hollow;
And up the steepend crag it crowns,
Margined off by aphid sundowns.
Violent garden of solar grapes,
some day we will barrel your shapes,
And your gentle filligree reigns retake-
Still cold before the Heavens's gate.
After death, mother's wake,
Finds her hatchling in the lake,
In the mud its last breath take.
Let these sail-white bones
Forever sate
Mother earth's gentle wheat.

Undulations on the horizon
Leave a most beautiful sight
As their outline becomes clear
Whilst the sundowns at night
Above these darkened ancient
Are different colours of cloud
Their beauty quietly shows
For to me they shout out loud
As the suns about to sleep
I see an orangey pink lava flow
Cascading across the dark
Momentarily a beautiful show
Then suddenly in the blink of an eye
What's seen is now gone forever
For the memory will always live on
When I die, what I've seen, is treasured

I sit and sip my glass of wine, as evening turns to night,
taking in the beauty of a quite miraculous sight,
watching as the sun goes down, from my veranda chair,
breathing in delicious scents, that permeate the air,
I never tire of the show, only nature can put on,
It lasts maybe an hour or so, and then, alas, is gone,
watching as the blazing orb begins to burn the sky
with deep reds and bright oranges, as it prepares to die,
then, later on the twilight shades of a purple lilac haze,
thrown down like a blanket, snuffs out and ends the days,
The sun is dead, long live the sun, I smile, no need for sorrow'
I've whiled away a happy hour, and I will again tomorrow!

swirl purple sundowns
cackling, taunting, demons deep

last love message sealed
nod to comrade's final fate
flashes up ahead
Split Rock Lighthouse near
Superior's saving light
Davy's Locker scorned
loved ones exhale fear
raise a pint to brotherhood
distant nightmares sleep
