Strafed Poems | Examples

Twilight

The corn has ripened.
With it is the wizened laughter of a
Mirthless age, showing ashy teeth
Of dappled cowries.
A flavescence so bantered by the courage
Of wilting bloom!

Sadly, sea waves truss the feet of
Burning skies, loosening the tongues of beaches,
Which, with ague, recline on cold, cringing currents.

Old cats mourn the fall of strafed pillars
Burrowing through silt-buried kennels re-grassed for the
Salutation of new vistas.

NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

Purple boots, he said
  the odd phrase
clanging in his head

Purple boots, he'd bled
  E'er since a poor boy
had tread in those colors
  for his warrior gang

Purple boots, he nearly sang
  as bullets strafed him
the odd phrase
  to caskets clanged

Notorious Nattering Nabobs of Negativism
(And Other Hopeless, Hysterical Hypochondriacs of History)

They pretend to love freedom but hate non-white votes
and poor's access to health care (both cost far too much
when supported by taxes where all pay debts owed.)
Wealth buys doctors' deferments when war gets announced
if dough's children might suffer (fake ailments vouchsafed
to excuse them from serving). Most hide wealth with glee
(for God loves that rich cheat!) No taxation is fair!
Just depraved think that wealth's butt's gang-raped by the rich?

Might a saint dream elites love to row their black boats?
Where does cripple complain Chris (1) 'discovered' his crutch?
Hmm! How likely is that? Who knows hole from commode?
Watch world slip off its rails as Christ's Love gets denounced,
brown kids stripped from their parents as mercy gets strafed,
our democracy burns, Trump lights farts from golf tee,
his card boasts he's ahead, but the game's truth or dare.
As each whore takes her bra off, pimps see who's the b*tch!

Cityscape

welcome to the many windowed cityscape
the wanton color of badly mixed paint
with a parade of personal lives
like black stockings full of runs
strafed by formations of overhead birds
whose small eyes think only to judge
passing, teasing wisps of cloudy twirl
confining we dwellers to a sunless cave
thousands and dozens stacked worshipful
stacked tightly knit in churches
longingly longing to be someplace else

The Enigma

The Enigma

Some children rescued from the hell in Syria
came to the west where the got a good education,
which made them realize their rescuers were
also, the enemy who had bombed and strafed
killing their relatives.
The re- discovered they were Arabs and the culture
of the west was contrary to the Koran, so they
thought of bringing the war to us with a vengeance.
What we have done to the Arab people, even giving
them the bleeding wound called Israel is not and can
not be forgotten; the decision made by the few to
wedge war in the Middle East is a price the man and
the woman in the street, are paying.

Ripped Ripples

When she dived off the bridge ripples broke free from the surface

Her throbbing heart had thumped a pounding shiver into darkness

Concentric circles brought a mirror image to the bottom of the river

Tampered with undulations and quivers’ hesitation now absolved

Strafed yet scarfed she placed layer upon layer into a slumbering swirl

One never jumps into the same river twice she pondered as she

Cherished the everlasting moment of lonely saltation with no return

Freshwater Mermaids

Fresh water mermaids
Under a big crowned tree near the lake three land mermaids
sat knitting swimsuits, the saw me and sat still as rabbits, I pretended
not to see them but did use the corner of my left eye,
I notice many things that way
Thought of taking a picture but would not like to scare them back into
the lake again, inland mermaids have scaly leg and webbed feet,
not an edifying sight, but they can dress in trousers like Yoko Ono
and having the bearing of exotic artists.

Curiosity got the best of me I sneaked back to take a photo but
a bird whistled a tune they saw me and called me something bad in
a language I never had heard before, it sounded like frogs`
under a rainbow coloured waterfall made of a child`s tears,
besides they could run much fast than me so, I made a rapid retreat
while rabbits gleefully danced in the glade and crows strafed me
with the precision, a Luftwaffe pilot would be proud of.

Premium MemberBlood Masks the Lea

Blood masks the lea, the blasted loam
upon whose breasts soldiers came home.
The earth, herself, held each to chest
the mist of sky killed with each breath
as ruined green became their tomb.

Men strafed by shells and gassed by fume:
cast akimbo, blown to their doom
entrenched, barb fenced; death coalesced;
blood masks the lea.

Eight million French, their valor shown;
most shy twenty lay beneath stone:
Russians, Brits, Italians, Yanks, rest
thirty seven million, our best
slaughtered and listed in old tomes;
blood masks the lea.
