His earnest quest for survival
Has meant off-and-on revival,
Bus boarding to far-off crusades,
For weeks avoiding nice brocades…
Not anymore one who’d bubble,
Sometimes chin with a week’s stubble:
Arch enemies in connivance,
The injurious for contrivance;
Had in dreams poisoned his noodle
And Christ said “Straight into puddle!”
Enemies flexing raw muscle,
God making it Divine Tussle…
His fervent quest for survival
Has meant much speedier arrival
For their camp’s redemptive prayer
That should fortify John Sayer.

Spectacular is the luminescent trail of a fallen star
whom the Heavens regret it's goodbye;
and speedier than meteors they go far...
while the astonished stargazers' eyes fantasize!
They will lose sight of the radiant spectacle...
staring at other stars luckier than they are;
nobody could guess their destination in a limitless universe;
the beauty of the celestial bodies is fragile and adverse,
it can fade any moment, its fate is unpredictable...
are humans and planets connected to the bizarre?
Imagine an astronomer making a new discovery
and finding out it had evaded the set boundaries
it was confined to by the force of spatial gravity
and how perplexed he would be by its disappearance?
So we would be when the loyalty sworn to someone vanishes
and makes hope crumble abruptly and doom our existence!

I have a bet
with an old fig tree
in my backyard;
a bet as to whether
he will be out
of the ground
before I am in it;
not that we wish the other
a speedier demise, for there
is a strong fondness and
bound we share -- having fed
one another for many years—
I, on his figs and lustrous shade;
and he, on my careful pruning
and sensitive irrigation...both
of us, around harvest, receiving
song-full praising from the
many winged interlopers, and
four legged sojourners of our
opulent and thoroughly integrated
community;
as to the motive for our wager
it is more tongue-and-cheek,
or bark-and...whatever --
reflecting the inevitable folly
of both our journeys…
below or above seems to make
little difference in the final
revelation—sort of like, rich
vs. poor...we are all equal
to the Grim Reaper—Nature’s
totally, Politically Correct
Recycler….

Had a horse once.
Not anymore.
Car's faster.
Sailed across the sea.
Not anymore.
Airplane's quicker.
Typed on an old upright.
Not anymore.
Computer's friendlier.
Wrote people letters.
Not anymore.
Email's speedier.
Commuted two hours to work.
Not anymore.
Get more work done telecommuting.
And so it goes...
Still use a manual can opener
Never bought an electric one.
What difference would it make?
Still use a hand lawnmower.
Never tried an electric model.
My lawn's still green in August.
Still call friends on the phone.
Never find 'em on Facebook.
Still have real friends.
Still look at old wedding albums.
Don't store 'em in the Cloud.
Albums never get hacked.
Still make my own appointments.
Not Alexa.
I stay connected.
And so it goes...

Speedier than lickety-split
Ready to jump tall structures in a hit
More powerful than an electric bolt
In a solitary bounding jolt
Look up in the sky!
It's a creature, lowly flying high
Think, it's a robot, I admit
Hmm, what is it?
Our own selves underneath, the vapid worn-out drapes
Hallucinogenic lights enlightening our shapes
Howbeit, the quiet mumble, hereupon
And the hum buzz wavering, of hanger-on
Murmuring about outside within sight
Their sharp edges cutting the night
It employs a spying eye
Every which way of the sky
By itself/oneself freaking out
Not realizing what could be about
All by one's lonesome, can't unwind at all
The observation in awe 'n appall
Tis' gathering data on- I for one and you
It's looking at all that we do
Why goodness- gracious, I bemoan
Why Yes! It's a DRONE!...

Living vehicle on Earth of Earthly life
driving through the path of actions
accompanying with all other living vehicles
having or not nearer and dearer relationships
keep in mind that others have their own destinations
need to carry on duties for the sake of responsibilities
to keep all safe on the way from any damages
even of self try to reach self destination
few run slowly with slow thoughts
few slightly speedier as bi-cycles do with
few on motor bikes few on costly cars’ speed
someone ends nearby someone ends at distant
help if anyone falls in trouble on the route
because all we pave towards individual destinations
for safety and security need to take proper care
to help others to help self duty’s to share

SHOOTING STARS
Let’s get it right guys - we’re not stars, only supporting cast
The real stars are bright warm personalities moving fast
Oh sure, we can enter the atmosphere at thousands of miles per
But these big suckers keep rolling round heaven much speedier
We’re just dust and, let’s face it, we will burn up in a second
But red giants and blue dwarfs live longer than anyone’s reckoned
Picture it - one night on tv it’s maybe something like an eclipse
And just when the commentator ‘s gonna move his lips
I come shooting in and steal the scene and everyone remembers me
And forgets the real phenomenon they came to see
It’s like watching Jack Elam as the jail-drunk in HIgh Noon
Who wakes before the big showdown and leaves too soon.
Yeah - Shooting Star? Phooey. It’s a misnomer and we all enjoyed it
But now let’s look at the big picture, recognize a mistake and avoid it.

IN VENTURED SERVITUDE
Faster and faster
it became my master
Quicker and quicker
I became sicker
I blazed a trail to the dark side of tomorrow
Then laid a highway to a city they call “sorrow”
More and more
I needed to score
And too oft the pickings were far too slim
So if she had to re-up I’d cop from him
Longer and longer
it grew stronger
As did the profanities my heart was screaming
While I described what the devil was deeming
The street became my siblings, both brother and sister
And yes, I tried to ignore the boil and blister
Boils because I’m the latter day Job
And never bowed to His eminence, alter or robe
Speedier and speedier it became greedier
too often
Too often too many friend’s final home was an early coffin
